Description We are looking for a detail-oriented Accounting Assistant to join our team in Salinas, California. In this long-term contract role, you will play a vital part in managing accounts payable and receivable, maintaining accurate financial records, and supporting the overall accounting function. This position offers opportunities to grow within the agriculture industry while contributing to a dynamic office environment.

Responsibilities:

Process accounts payable (AP) transactions, including coding invoices and ensuring timely payments.

Manage accounts receivable (AR) tasks, including collections and reconciling customer accounts.

Perform regular bank reconciliations to ensure accuracy of financial records.

Utilize Excel for creating pivot tables and vlookups to analyze financial data.

Maintain and update accounting systems, including Famous and QuickBooks.

Assist in preparing financial reports and month-end closing activities.

Collaborate with team members to streamline accounting processes and improve efficiency.

Provide support for audits and compliance-related tasks as needed.

Ensure adherence to company policies and accounting standards.

Communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders regarding financial inquiries. Requirements - Minimum of 1 year of experience in accounting, specifically in AP and AR functions.

Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including pivot tables and vlookups.

Familiarity with accounting software such as Famous and QuickBooks.

Strong understanding of basic accounting principles and processes.

Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.

Ability to work effectively in a collaborative office environment.

Associate's degree in finance or accounting preferred, but not required.

Strong communication skills for interacting with clients and team members.
