Job Title: Senior Accountant

Job Description

Lead and support monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes, including journal entries, account reconciliations, and variance analysis. Prepare and review financial statements in accordance with GAAP. Assist in the accounting and reporting of capital assets, leases, and construction projects. Collaborate cross-functionally with Finance, Tax, IT, and Lease Administration teams to ensure accurate and timely financial data. Support internal and external audits by preparing schedules and responding to audit inquiries. Analyze complex transactions and provide guidance on appropriate accounting treatment. Participate in process improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency and accuracy. Mentor junior accounting staff and contribute to a collaborative team environment.

Responsibilities

Prepare and review financial statements adhering to GAAP.

Assist in accounting and reporting for capital assets, leases, and construction projects.

Collaborate with Finance, Tax, IT, and Lease Administration teams.

Support internal and external audits with schedules and responses.

Analyze complex transactions and advise on accounting treatments.

Engage in process improvement initiatives for enhanced efficiency.

Mentor junior accounting staff and promote teamwork.

Essential Skills

Experience with general ledger, month-end processes, financial statement preparation, and reporting.

Proficiency in journal entries, reconciliations, and accounting principles.

Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance.

4+ years of experience in an accountant-level role.

Knowledge of Excel, including VLOOKUPs and Pivot Tables.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

Public Accounting experience is preferred.

Previous experience with Oracle and PowerBI is preferred but not necessary.

Work Environment

This role offers a hybrid work schedule, with office attendance required from Tuesday to Thursday at the downtown office location. The position is a backfill due to an internal promotion and offers the opportunity for future growth within the team. Parking is not covered while on contract, but there is a nearby parking lot. If hired as a full-time employee at the end of the contract period, team members receive a free SN 360® Smart Bed.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $45.67 - $48.08/hr.
