Temporary Taverna Banfi Restaurant Server, The Statler HotelAPPLYThe Statler Hotel at Cornell University is has temporary server opportunities available to join our Taverna Banfi Restaurant Team for the daytime weekday shifts. With a passion for food and fine wine along with an old-world charm inspired by the Castello Banfi Wine Estate in Montalcino, Italy ... Taverna Banfi is the signature restaurant of The Statler Hotel.This is a temporary assignment with opportunity to apply for a regular role when available.This roles pays $10 - $12.90/hour plus tips. Hourly rate determined by employment status and experience. Your role as a Waitperson:Serves meals to guests in Taverna Banfi Restaurant according to established rules of etiquette and service. Will also work in the hotel room service department. Helps in set up and clean-up of the dining room.Serving Duties include:- suggesting courses- responsible serving of alcoholic beverages- answering questions about food preparation and content; understanding the importance of dietary restrictions and preferences- taking cocktail and food orders using electronic sales device to enter orders- making cocktails and specialty coffees, serving the items to the guest- fulfilling any additional requests throughout the meal- bussing table following meal.Room Service Duties include:- working in room service a minimum of 1 and a maximum of 2 shifts per week- take food and beverage orders over the phone and quote delivery time to the guest- accurately deliver the orders to the guest within the quoted delivery time- collect payment for each order- serve any DEO's that may exist for that service period - including the Faculty Lounge DEO- deliver any amenities for that given service period- restock the room service area back to par levels before the next service period- support the restaurant by working on side work, expediting food orders for breakfast, and deliver food to guests as able to during their shiftRequired Qualifications:- Basic reading and writing skills required- 1-3 years of wait experience preferred- ability to work well with the public- committed to high standards- Must be able to work a flexible work schedule, including weekends- Must adhere to the dress code and appearance policy of the hotelThe Statler Hotel & The Nolan School of Hotel Administration:Located in the heart of a vibrant Ivy League campus, the Statler Hotel is part of Cornell University's Nolan School of Hotel Administration and is the gateway to Cornell University for many visitors.
