About the Job You're Considering
We are looking for a passionate and detail-oriented Thermal Performance Engineer to join our team and play a key role in ensuring vehicle thermal systems meet functional objectives. This role involves simulation, testing, validation, and collaboration across engineering and styling teams to optimize thermal performance in both BEV and ICE vehicles.
Your Role
Lead vehicle thermal system instrumentation and testing to ensure accurate data collection and performance validation.
Diagnose and troubleshoot thermal systems in both battery electric (BEV) and internal combustion engine (ICE) vehicles.
Develop and implement energy consumption solutions for BEV platforms to enhance range and efficiency.
Plan and execute annual hot trip tests and development test cycles in coordination with lab engineers.
Collaborate with program chiefs to review cooling system status and recommend improvements.
Support aero/thermal attribute development and ensure alignment with DVP&R testing and reporting standards.
Occasionally interface with the exterior styling studio to ensure thermal system integration aligns with design goals.
Your Skills and Experience
You hold a bachelor's degree in engineering from an ABET-accredited university.
You bring at least 3 years of relevant engineering experience, ideally in thermal systems or vehicle testing.
You have a strong understanding of heat transfer principles and thermal system design.
You're experienced with data acquisition systems and thermal drive cycle testing.
You've worked with cross-functional teams and have a proven ability to lead and influence outcomes.
You're familiar with BEV range optimization and vehicle energy demand analysis.
You're a strong communicator with excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
