AWS Supply Chain is seeking a highly effective candidate to design and implement innovative solutions that deliver the best operating and lowest cost infrastructure in the world. This individual will own the end-to-end supply chain strategy supporting the lowest cost, highest performance storage archive in the cloud. As the commercial head of this supply chain, you own cost, performance, contracting and strategy. You will influence the hardware roadmap and deliver solutions by owning the entire supply ecosystem and deeply partnering with AWS teams that include hardware engineering, supply chain, quality, lifecycle management, operations, compliance and sustainability.
A successful candidate will have in-depth knowledge of Archive Storage hardware architectures and the supply chains that are capable of delivering hyper-scale archive solutions. They will have experience managing large scale, complex and strategic commercial relationships. They will have demonstrated their ability to manage negotiations, program manage cross-functional teams and effectively operate at all levels of the organization, including to senior executives.
Key job responsibilities
Function as the single threaded relationship manager for the strategic supply partner that provide design, development, manufacturing and integration services for AWS archive storage platforms.
Function as a technology leader that influences, inside AWS and across the supply ecosystem, hardware roadmaps needed to meet AWS customer requirements.
Matrix manage all aspects of supplier performance including cost, quality, capacity, delivery, compliance, sustainability and overall supply strategy.
Negotiate and execute complex supplier agreements, statements of work and other contracts by working with cross-functional leads.
Partner with cross functional teams to deliver RFPs, evaluate vendor responses and align on business awards.
Deliver AWS's cost objectives through detailed understanding of all cost drivers and bill of material reviews.
Develop and successfully negotiate sourcing strategies that align with business objectives while maintaining a sustainable relationship with suppliers.
Inform and influence senior leadership about business status, risk and opportunities via written narratives.
Manage vendor escalations and provide executive level updates as required.
Prepare and present detailed data-driven business reviews with senior management, focused on procurement/sourcing execution and continuity of supply.
Identify key technology trends in the industry and drive supplier product roadmaps that align with AWS's technical development and manufacturing initiatives.

Basic Qualifications
7+ years of developing, negotiating and executing business agreements experience
7+ years of professional or military experience
Bachelor's degree
7+ years of experience working with engineering teams to develop technology roadmaps and supporting sourcing strategies
5+ years experience developing strategies that influence leadership decisions at the organizational level
Preferred Qualifications
Experience as a founder or executive focused on related segments, or as a practice leader or business unit owner
MBA
Experience in the hyperscale storage architecture and related sourcing strategies.

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $158,400/year in our lowest geographic market up to $262,000/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered, equity, sign-on payments, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits.
