Position Brand Description:
The Associate Director for Peptide Operations provides oversight for the operational resources assigned to the peptide Process Team including Operations Leaders. The chief deliverable of this role is the leadership of frontline leaders and their teams in achieving accurate execution of manufacturing instructions (e.g., batch production record, SOP's, etc.) used for the safe manufacture of high-quality medicine. This team is operating in a high demand environment to aggressively ramp production to meet supply chain needs. The role serves as the key integrator of the broader cross-functional team to achieve the production goals while driving safety, quality, and continuous improvement as per the Manufacturing Standards for Operational Excellence. The Associate Director provides leadership, has accountability for all of the Process Team, and ensures that appropriate staffing is in place.
Key Objectives/Deliverables:
Drive application and fidelity to the vital behaviors of execution: Read, Do, Sign
Achieve accurate execution via continuous, programmatic reinforcement of the rudiments of operational excellence
Ensure adequate staff is available to conduct departmental operations.
Ensure departmental staff is properly equipped to conduct necessary operations.
Direct operations leaders to ensure operations are conducted in a manner which is consistent with regulatory and business drivers.
Escalate issues the appropriate management level when necessary. Ensure operations are conducted following all HSE and GMP requirements.
Ensure self and direct reports are in compliance with necessary training and applicable qualifications for the assigned tasks.
Ensure performance management and development plans are in place for all operations staff.
Use appropriate balance of recognition and discipline to drive accountability of staff.
Ensure adequate supply of material is available to the downstream customer.
Serve as a coach and mentor.
Develop business plans for the department and manage the departmental budget.
Work with functional leadership to organize, prioritize, and deliver on initiatives to drive continual improvements.
Basic Requirements:
Minimum B.S. in engineering/chemistry/biochemistry or equivalent work experience.
Minimum 5 years of applicable manufacturing-related experience, preferably some biosynthetic, fermentation, and/or purification operations experience.
Additional Preferences:
Ability to instill teamwork within the department and demonstrate key interpersonal skills.
Ability to make decisions independently and to network with others as appropriate.
Ability to function in a team environment as a leader and as a member of management teams.
Demonstrated skills in project management and coordination.
Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing to audiences at all levels of the broader manufacturing organization

Must complete Learning Plan for Associate Director - Mfg Ops.
No certifications required.
Tasks require entering manufacturing areas that require wearing appropriate PPE.

Actual compensation will depend on a candidate's education, experience, skills, and geographic location. The anticipated wage for this position is
$118,500 - $173,800
Full-time equivalent employees also will be eligible for a company bonus (depending, in part, on company and individual performance).
