Description We are looking for a detail-oriented Accounting Specialist to join our team in Washington, District of Columbia. This is a long-term contract opportunity designed for someone with strong expertise in financial processes and a commitment to accuracy. If you have experience in managing accounts payable and receivable, reconciling accounts, and handling vendor relationships, we encourage you to apply.

Responsibilities:

Manage accounts payable processes, including invoice coding and timely payment.

Oversee accounts receivable operations to ensure accurate posting and tracking of incoming payments.

Perform regular reconciliations for bank accounts and credit cards to maintain financial accuracy.

Handle vendor management tasks, including communication and resolution of discrepancies.

Process invoices efficiently while adhering to organizational policies.

Post cash transactions and ensure proper documentation and record-keeping.

Deposit checks and maintain accurate records of all transactions.

Collaborate with team members to support financial operations and reporting.

Contribute to the improvement of accounting workflows and practices.

Maintain a high level of attention to detail in all financial processes. Requirements - At least 2 years of experience in accounting or a related field with a focus on detail-oriented tasks.

Proficiency in accounts receivable and accounts payable processes.

Strong skills in reconciling bank accounts and credit card statements.

Familiarity with coding invoices and maintaining accurate financial records.

Demonstrated ability to manage vendor relationships effectively.

Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills.

Commitment to upholding financial accuracy and integrity.

Knowledge of mission-driven organizations and progressive political ideas is a plus.
