Staff Accountant

Description We are looking for a dedicated Staff Accountant to join our team on a long-term contract basis in Wilmington, Massachusetts. This role requires someone with strong attention to detail who excels in corporate tax, general ledger management, and financial reporting. Responsibilities:

Prepare and review corporate tax returns to ensure compliance with regulations.

Manage sales tax filings and address related inquiries.

Record and reconcile journal entries to maintain accurate financial data.

Oversee general ledger accounts and ensure adherence to accounting standards.

Collaborate with internal teams to support month-end and year-end closing processes.

Conduct financial analysis to identify discrepancies and recommend corrective actions.

Assist in audits by providing necessary documentation and explanations.

Maintain up-to-date knowledge of tax laws and accounting principles to ensure compliance.

Support the implementation of accounting systems or processes as needed.

Generate reports and summaries for management review. Requirements - Proven experience in corporate tax preparation and compliance.

Strong knowledge of sales tax regulations and procedures.

Proficiency in managing journal entries and general ledger accounts.

Familiarity with corporate tax return processes and related documentation.

Excellent analytical skills with attention to detail.

Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment.

Proficiency in accounting software and tools.

Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
