Description

We are looking for a dedicated Accounts Payable Clerk to join our team in Covington, Louisiana. This position offers an excellent opportunity to contribute to a fast-paced and dynamic environment within the import/export industry. In this role, you will play a vital part in ensuring the accuracy and efficiency of accounts payable processes, while supporting various financial operations. This is a short-term contract to full time employment opportunity.

Responsibilities:

Manage administrative tasks and clerical duties for the Accounts Payable and Finance department.

Execute daily financial processes and controls promptly, ensuring compliance with company policies.

Deliver exceptional customer service to internal business partners and external stakeholders.

Assist with internal and external audits by preparing and organizing necessary documentation.

Open, sort, and distribute incoming mail for the department.

Organize and maintain records by sorting, logging, photocopying, and filing invoices, checks, and other financial documents.

Verify and process checks, including handling special requests for expedited processing.

Support the team by completing special projects as assigned.

Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Business, or a related field.

At least 2 years of experience in an Accounts Payable role is preferred.

Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.

Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and the ability to manage priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Excellent communication and customer service skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse teams.

Familiarity with accounts payable processes, including coding invoices, check runs, and invoice processing.

Ability to adapt to frequent interruptions and shifting priorities.
