Our Debt Capital Markets (DCM) team
US Bancorp's Debt Capital Markets (DCM) group specializes in the origination, structuring and syndication of fixed income securities (primarily publicly traded corporate bonds) for investment grade (IG) corporations and partnerships across a variety of industries. Transactions finance a wide array of client needs, such as acquisitions, capital expenditures, liability management exercises, refinancings and recapitalizations.
Client coverage is focused on leading primary market bond issuances, with tailored corporate finance advice, capital structure recommendations, regular market updates and transaction execution guidance to Chief Financial Officers, Corporate Treasurers and related Treasury staff supporting this aim.
What you'll do
Incoming IG DCM analysts will join a lean, collegial, and collaborative team that runs one of the leading underwriting platforms for domestic corporate bond issuances. Analysts work directly with senior team members who share in their professional development and intend to promote advancement within the group.
As a debt capital markets development program analyst, you'll :
DCM analysts directly support senior professionals in their client coverage and deal execution efforts:
Assist in deal preparations and execution (e.g., market and deal process updates, investor marketing, due diligence, documentation/filings, sales team memos, investor and orderbook analysis, credit approval)
Analyze macroeconomic, interest rate and corporate bond market conditions
Perform credit, sector, comparable company and relative value analyses
Create tailored presentation materials used in client pitches
Compose written market update summaries for clients and internal staff
Run models to determine the financial impact of potential liability management transactions
Regularly collaborate with both external and internal deal team members, including issuing clients, peers across the industry, as well as our public side sales & trading partners
Build a supportive community of peers through a variety of cohort strengthening activities such as social events, volunteer days, and development workshops

Basic qualifications:
Bachelor's degree completed prior to start date
Major/concentration in Finance, Economics, Accounting, Math, or a related field with a target graduation date of December 2025 or Spring 2026
Previousindustry experience, such as Investment Banking, Corporate Banking, Corporate Finance/Treasury, Sales & Trading
Working knowledge of a Bloomberg Terminal
Ability to start the fulltime development program in summer 2026
Preferred qualifications:
Excellent verbal and written communication and presentation skills
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint
Demonstrated understanding of the economy, capital markets and financial statement analysis
Financial modeling, analytical and strategic thinking skills
Exceptional work ethic and attention to detail

Comfort functioning both independently and as part of a team
Ability and desire to work in an exciting, fast-paced environment

Work ing model and hours:
This role is hybrid. Team members who are in a hybrid role typically spend four days a week at the listed U.S. Bank location(s), while having flexibility on their work location for the other working days.
Development program members work approximately 40-hours each week in this fulltime role.

The salary range reflects figures based on the primary location, which is listed first. The actual range for the role may differ based on the location of the role. In addition to salary, U.S. Bank offers a comprehensive benefits package, including incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase 401(k) contribution and pension (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements). Pay Range: $66,640.00 - $78,400.00
