Job Description
This position serves as the Administrative Manager of the Local Government Grants section in the Office of Revenue & Tax Analysis Bureau. The Local Government Grant programs are one of a kind in state government and are substantial and critical programs for cities, villages, townships, and counties. This position works with the State Budget Office, other state departments, House and Senate Fiscal Agencies, cities, villages, townships, counties, and various special interest groups.
The primary functions of this position are to assist in planning and directing the Local Government Grants section staff to ensure that the department's goals are met related to the Local Government Grant programs that the department administers. The Local Government Grants section administers grants to local units of government such as the Financially Distressed Cities, Villages, and Townships Grant Program (FDCVT), the Beverage Container Distributor Grant; Municipal Support Grants; High-Crime Community Support, Beat the Streets, Dearborn Dispatch, Courageous Cadets. The primary role of the position is to define work objectives, establish priorities, direct the work of subordinate staff, coordinate the planning and direction of the Local Government Grant programs, and direct the completion of all financial reporting requirements. The position works within general policies and procedures and exercises considerable independent judgment to ensure program conformance with general guidelines, methods, techniques, policies and laws with only very broad policy direction.

Hybrid Remote Work.This position is eligible to work remotely on Mondays, Thursdays, and Fridays, and must work onsite Tuesdays and Wednesdays.
