Join the HII Mission Technologies team and play a pivotal role in shaping the financial strategy behind Combatant Command-level military exercises. As the Exercise Budget Lead, you'll support high-impact planning efforts at Peterson Space Force Base, ensuring precision, compliance, and strategic alignment across multimillion-dollar defense budgets. Essential Job Responsibilities
Lead the development, execution, and oversight of budgets exceeding tens of millions of dollars in support of military exercises
Provide expert analysis and recommendations across the Planning, Programming, Budgeting, and Execution (PPBE) lifecycle, including PBR, PEP, and POM inputs
Collaborate with Combatant Command stakeholders to align financial strategies with operational objectives
Prepare and present financial forecasts, variance analyses, and risk assessments to senior leadership
Develop and maintain advanced financial models to support strategic decision-making
Ensure compliance with DoD financial regulations and reporting standards
Identify cost efficiencies and opportunities for reallocation to maximize mission impact
Mentor junior analysts and contribute to continuous process improvement across the finance team
Minimum Qualifications
15+ years relevant experience with Bachelors in related field; 13+ years relevant experience with Masters in related field; or High School Diploma or equivalent and 19+ years relevant experience.
Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or relevant technical field
15+ years of experience in military exercise budgeting and financial analysis at the Combatant Command level
Demonstrated mastery of the PPBE process, including PBR, PEP, and POM submissions
Proven track record managing budgets in excess of $60 million
Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and financial modeling tools
Strong analytical, communication, and presentation skills
Experience working within the Department of Defense (DoD) financial ecosystem
TS/SCI security clearance (active or eligible)
LI-RM1
Preferred Requirements
Master's degree (MBA, MPA, or related) or professional certifications such as CPA, CFA, or PMP
Experience supporting joint or multinational military exercises
Familiarity with financial systems such as GFEBS, DEAMS, or other DoD platforms
Knowledge of data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI)
Prior leadership experience in cross-functional financial teams
Experience authoring budget justification materials and senior-level briefings
