This position includes responsibilities for extension and research related to agricultural business management. The successful candidate will: Have or develop a nationally or internationally recognized research program related to U.S. agricultural business management. This program will develop and utilize agricultural data to identify and predict improved business outcomes. Advanced analytics are expected to provide improved decision making related to agricultural business systems and sustainable productivity. Develop statewide and nationally recognized extension programs in agricultural business management and work with Center for Farm Financial Management as well as collaborate with Extension's Agricultural Business Management educators, Minnesota State's Farm Business Management instructors, and private sector businesses and farms. Engage in and provide leadership for extension and research programs in agricultural business management that move the department in innovative, productive and relevant research, and educational directions. Work with interdisciplinary research teams, drawing upon expertise in agronomy, animal science, entomology, plant pathology, soil science or other disciplines within the College of Food, Agricultural and Natural Resource Sciences and the broader University. Participate in securing extramural funding via USDA-NIFA submissions in addition to local granting agencies (e.g., Minnesota Department of Agriculture, commodity groups, etc.). Contribute to efforts fostering inclusive excellence in the Department, College, University, and profession at large. Qualifications Required Qualifications Ph.D. in agricultural economics, applied economics, economics, or related discipline. Desired Qualifications Rigorous training in applied microeconomic theory with a specialization in agricultural economics. Rigorous training in applied econometrics focusing on applied microeconomics. Evidence of high-quality research and of potential for publication in peer-reviewed field journals and general interest journals in economics and science. Evidence of potential for excellence in extension teaching and for program leadership. Potential for success working with multi-disciplinary research and Extension teams. Experience working with farming communities, farmers, farm organizations, and agribusinesses in Minnesota. Understanding of U.S. agricultural business management topics. Experience writing successful grant proposals to governmental, non-governmental, environmental, or private sector organizations. Evidence of working effectively with culturally diverse audiences. Evidence of commitment to the University's goal of creating a positive and inclusive campus climate. Exemplary communication skills for professional and non-professional audiences. Commitment to working collaboratively with faculty peers and advisees. Pay and Benefits Pay Range: The salary is competitive and commensurate with professional experience and qualifications.
