Job Type:Regular INVEST IN YOU, JOIN AGROPUR. We have an immediate opening for a Wastewater Treatment Operator at our LE Sueur, MN location. This position will be on the night shift. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Operate the wastewater treatment system in compliance with organization discharge limits. Operate wastewater treatment, sludge processing, and disposal equipment in wastewater treatment plant to control flow and processing of wastewater. Monitor control panels and adjust valves manually or by remote control to regulate flow of influent and chemicals. Observe variations in operating conditions and interpret metered, gauged readings and test results to determine load requirements. Start and stop pumps, engines, and generators to control flow of wastewater through filtering, settling, aeration, and sludge digestion processes. Maintain log of operations and record meter and gauge readings. Assist with and monitor the load-out of sludges. Perform routine inspections of tanks and other associated equipment to ensure mechanical and physical integrity of the system. Perform preventative maintenance of wastewater plant equipment and basic troubleshooting of maintenance/electrical issues. Perform wastewater plant sampling of processes, and complete analysis of samples. Perform monitoring of wastewater plant processes and make adjustments as needed. Perform sampling, filtration, and preservation of monitoring wells. May conduct tests, such as pH, turbidity and chemical concentrations (bench testing). Perform wetland volume remaining inspections and accurately document findings. May operate and maintain power generating equipment to provide air and electricity for plant. Understand and comply with all Quality Assurance policies, immediately reporting any potential food safety issues to management. Other Duties and Responsibilities: Understand and adhere to Good Manufacturing Practices. Safety Protocol Stop any observed unsafe acts and obey facility safety rules and procedures. Correct or report any observed safety hazards. Support safety policies and programs. Qualifications: Education Required: High School Diploma or equivalent preferred. Experience Required: Minimum one (1) year wastewater treatment experience or equivalent training/certification strongly preferred. Basic mechanical competency with standard wastewater equipment to include, pumps, and automation required. Certification/Licensure Required: Wastewater Operator Certification required by state agency or obtained within one (1) year of hire. Skills Required: Communicate effectively both verbally and in writing with colleagues and individuals inside and outside the organization. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment. Demonstrate attention to detail and accuracy in work. Ability to extract, analyze, and act on information with limited supervisory input. Demonstrate functional and technical knowledge, ability to learn new skills quickly, and achieve a high level of accomplishment. Ability to apply logic and methods to solve difficult problems with effective solutions. Basic math plus fractions, decimals and percentages. Basic computer operational skills; able to input and retrieve computerized information. Able to exchange basic informational data (fill out forms/checklists, copy data from one record to another, etc.); interview to gather information; advise others on alternatives/options; coach and counsel others; read, understand and explain technical data. Maintain updated knowledge and understanding of federal and state regulations, procedures, and standards.
