NOTE: This vacancy is being announced at two different job classes Engineer Senior and/or Engineer 2 Graduate. The final class is dependent on the successful applicant's qualifications.
This position is located at Central Office in St. Paul and may have the flexibility to telework, work a hybrid schedule, or work in the office. The incumbent will be required to make a telework arrangement with their supervisor. The incumbent will be expected to work in the office as determined by policy and discussion with their supervisor.
To assist the Provisions Engineer in the Special Provisions Unit; to prepare Special Provisions for State and Maintenance Transportation Construction proposal documents where the plans and standard specifications do not adequately set forth the intent of the contract; to review State and Maintenance Construction Plans to ensure conformance with MnDOT's engineering standards and policy; and to perform other additional duties as necessary for proper function of the Special Provisions Unit.

Minimum Qualifications
Engineer Senior:
Employee must be licensed as a professional Engineer with the Minnesota Board of Architecture, Engineering, Land Surveying, Landscape Architecture, Geoscience and Interior Design or be able to obtain licensure through reciprocity;
AND experience in:
Preparing documents using Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, and Adobe Pro;
Project final design practices and procedures, construction practices, methods and materials, and applicable field experience;
Experience utilizing standard specifications and materials specifications for construction of roadway and transportation projects;
Technical writing sufficient to write complex responses to other engineers or professionals;
Environmental commitments, permitting and documents used in developing provisions;
Basic mathematics and geometry
OR
Engineer 2 Graduate:
All applicants must have a bachelor's degree in civil engineering from an accredited College or University and two years professional level civil engineering experience in the areas noted below; (a Master's degree may be substituted for one year of the professional experience) plus applicants must have full completion of the Fundamentals of Engineering exam. And must obtain licensure within 6 years of hire date.
AND experience in:
Preparing documents using Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, and Adobe Pro;
Project final design practices and procedures, construction practices, methods and materials, and applicable field experience;
Experience utilizing standard specifications and materials specifications for construction of roadway and transportation projects;
Technical writing sufficient to write complex responses to other engineers or professionals;
Environmental commitments, permitting and documents used in developing provisions;
Basic mathematics and geometry.
