Job Description:

The Transportation Manager position will perform the following duties:

Manages all delivery expenses for your assigned locations

Manages both the fleet and driver workforce in an efficient, cost-effective manner

Identifies and expands backhaul revenue

Provides excellent customer service and leadership of the team

Hands-on management experience in transportation and logistics operations

Familiarity with automated logistics systems

Makes effective decisions by analyzing information and considering priorities

Capable of staffing, structuring, and maintaining a productive team of highly skilled employees

Inspires others with enthusiasm and positive energy

Effectively manages in a changing environment. Skills include leadership, planning, developing policies, delegation, and tracking performance against measurable goals

Demonstrated ability to manage a small staff

Has superior organizational skills

Is articulate, professional, and effective at building relationships using oral and written communication

Required Qualifications:

Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and other relevant computer applications.

5+ years of leadership or supervisor experience with all facets of outbound transportation; knowledge of distribution systems, including routing and transfer procedures.

Experience managing large numbers of driving staff; experience with hiring, training, and motivating teammates and resolving employee relations issues.

In-depth knowledge of transportation regulations, compliance standards, and industry best practices.

1+ years of verifiable CDL Class A experience.

No DUI/DWI convictions within past 5 years

No chargeable D.O.T. reportable accidents within the past three years.

High School Degree or Equivalent

BS Degree in Business Management/Supply Chain Management or logistics related program and/or 5+ years equivalent and related experience

Proven track record of developing and implementing successful transportation strategies.

2+ years of accounting, planning, analytical, and/or reporting experience; ability to identify financial issues and provide cost-effective solutions.

Exceptional conflict management skills, particularly in handling sensitive and complex matters.
