Position Summary
The Director of Finance & Administration will report directly to the Executive Director and will provide key leadership to ensure financial oversight, planning, and sustainability in all program areas. The Director of Finance & Administration will partner with all program departments to maximize their effectiveness by managing budgets and reports, developing policies and procedures, guiding optimal operational practices, and working as a team leader. The Director of Finance & Administration will be a strong, collaborative leader and creative problem solver ensuring fiscal efficiency and mission-driven delivery of Habitat for Humanity's services.
This is a Full Time Exempt position requiring flexibility to work evening and weekend hours as needed for meetings and special events. After-hours work is expected to be infrequent, but an important aspect of this position. The regular anticipated schedule for the Director of Finance & Administration is Monday -- Friday (40-hours per week, 8 hours per day).
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in business or related field (or equivalent experience)
Proficiency in QuickBooks and Microsoft Excel and data analysis
Minimum three years' experience in operational or retail management, including budget oversight, financial reporting, and team leadership
Strong communication skills, including written, verbal, and public-speaking skills
Valid driver's license with satisfactory driving record and must be insurable.
Habitat for Humanity is a Christian-based organization. The successful candidate must represent Christian and community-based values.
Ability to lift and carry approximately 50 lbs, perform frequent bending/squatting, pushing /pulling, and prolonged computer use.
Key Responsibilities
The following identifies the anticipated responsibilities but is not necessarily all-inclusive.
Financial Management & Reporting: responsible for oversight and reporting in all program areas and will work closely with the Executive Team for compliance, reporting, and strategic plan implementation.
Leads and proposes annual budget preparation
Produce monthly financial statements and analysis data for operational efficiency
Maintains chart of accounts to include receivables, payables, donations, grants, and fundraising activities
Processes payroll and all reporting (to include timely tax payments/filings, W2s, 1099s, etc), responds to audits, funding-agency reviews, and ensures ongoing compliance with grant and legal requirements.

Assists with other reporting as needed
. Operations: partner with all department managers and coordinators to ensure functional efficiencies, fiscal responsibility, goal setting, and optimum operational success
Maintain paper and electronic files
Assist with new employees, hiring, compliance, and onboarding
Collaborate with ReStore Manager to drive donations, sales, and overall store performance
Coordinates with Community Development Coordinator for community outreach, marketing, donor and sponsorship organization
Oversees family selection criteria: distribute and track applications, coordinate homeowner education classes, conduct eligibility screenings, and maintain applicant files.
Construction budget management and reporting
Reinforce core values and foster a positive, collaborative workplace culture
Strategic Planning & Policy Development: works closely with the Executive Team to develop and implement strategic plans in the following program and department areas.

Community Outreach (sponsorships, donations, fundraising activities, marketing)
Family Selection
Aging in Place
New program development
Other areas as needed
