The Department of Health and Welfare is hiring for a Health Facility Surveyor (RN) for ourIdaho Falls location. Our surveyors are critical in ensuring quality healthcare is provided to patients and facility residents throughout the state and conduct licensure surveys, investigate complaints, and provide training and technical assistance to assist healthcare facilities in complying with rules and regulations. Incumbents in these positions travel extensively throughout the state and may be gone as much as 50% or more of their work time, including overnight stays.
This position may be eligible for telework after successful completion of probation and necessary training. Approval to telecommute is not guaranteed and subject to termination at any time.

EXAMPLE OF DUTIES:
Ensure compliance with outcome-oriented regulations, which requires surveyors to select a sample of the client base.
Assess each client's health, social, emotional, rehabilitative, and habilitative care needs.
Observe facility staff and others providing services to clients.
Conduct interviews and record reviews to ensure sufficient information is gathered on which to base compliance decisions.
Use critical thinking skills and professional judgement to determine if the facility is meeting clients' needs in accordance with the stated regulations and health care standards.
Write reports that are clear, concise and legally defensible.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND SPECIALTY MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
You must possess all the minimum/specialty minimum qualifications below to pass the exam for this position. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Experience in methods of negotiation and public relations. Typically gained by at least six months experience.
Experience preparing oral and written reports. Typically gained by at least six months experience preparing oral and written reports.
Experience operating a personal computer. Typically met by at least six months of experience operating a personal computer as an integral part of the job.
A valid driver's license.
SPECIALTY MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
