This position provides general office assistance to agency staff; to include composing routine documents, reports and agency correspondence, as well as receiving incoming calls, emails and text messages. Position also receives and routes external and internal agency inquiries to appropriate agency staff. Position initiates and processes initial steps for newly filed cases and updates to existing cases, including tasks such as data entry, mail processing, and documentation scanning.

Official Work Office: The physical location of this position is at the Cadillac Place-- State of Michigan Building at 3026 West Grand Blvd, Ste 2-750, Detroit Michigan, 48202 on a schedule comprised of five-8 hour workdays per week-Monday thru Friday. Based on operational needs, policy limits, and continued satisfactory performance of the employee, a request for a hybrid work schedule will be considered to work 2 days remotely. Selected candidates who have an approved hybrid work schedule must complete all work within Michigan. If you currently reside outside of Michigan, you must relocate to Michigan to perform the duties of this position.
Employees will be provided SOM issued computers to perform state work. Phones may be provided for necessary communications. When working remotely, employees will be responsible for providing other components of a remote office at their own expense, including:
Secure work location that allows privacy and prevents distractions.
High-speed internet connection of at least 25 Mbps download and 5 Mbps upload.
Suitable lighting, furniture, and utilities.

Paid Parental Leave:Eligible employees can take 12 weeks of paid leaveimmediately after a birth or adoption to allow needed time together at home with a new child.
