GE Appliances is seeking a Principal Advanced Manufacturing Engineer (AME) to join our Horizontal Axis (HA) Washer Team within the Clothes Care business. In this critical role, you will lead the integration of cutting-edge Automatic Storage and Retrieval Systems (ASRS)-both hardware and software-ensuring flawless execution of a high-impact program.

How You'll Create Possibilities
Lead cross-functional coordination to ensure on-time delivery, qualification, and installation of multiple ASRS systems.
Partner with the Central Materials , Operations , and Digital Technology teams to integrate ASRS solutions with WMS , MES , and ERP platforms.
Collaborate with software vendors and IT to tailor ASRS functionality for operational excellence.
Develop and execute robust test plans to ensure system accuracy, reliability, and efficiency.
Monitor ASRS performance metrics, identify improvement opportunities, and implement enhancements.
Provide hands-on training and support to operations and IT staff on ASRS operation and maintenance.
Safeguard data integrity and security in collaboration with IT security teams.
Troubleshoot system issues quickly to minimize downtime.
Contribute to budget planning and management for program investments and expenses.
Mentor junior team members to ensure project success.
Develop manufacturing processes that align with the entire value stream, incorporating Lean principles , ergonomic workstation design, and single-piece flow.
Work with EHS and engineering teams to ensure safety is at the forefront of all processes.
What You'll Bring to Our Team
Requirements:
Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience, Engineering degree strongly preferred.
8+ years of hands-on experience in manufacturing equipment and processes.
Proven experience with procurement, execution, and operations of multiple ASRS systems, including both hardware and software.
Experience in leading and managing capital equipment procurement projects, including specification development, supplier selection, technical reviews, installation, and qualifications.
Proven understanding of Lean manufacturing principles.
Ability to work effectively in large cross-functional teams and at various organizational levels, including salaried and shop floor operators/skilled trades team members.
Excellent communication skills, with the ability to provide program updates to cross-functional teams.
Demonstrated ownership of cross-functional program deliverables and decision-making based on overall company benefit.
Significant experience and a proven track record of meeting schedules and budgets on construction and capital equipment projects.
Experience with Horizontal Axis Washer platforms.
Proficiency in MS Office, MS Scheduler (or equivalent), and AutoCAD
Willingness to travel as required.
Desired Qualifications:
Experience implementing material flow systems for Fortune 500 companies.
Prior experience with New Product Introduction (NPI) programs
Six Sigma Certification.
