We're hiring a talented Software Engineering Manager to help us build a world class developer platform to fuel the Snowflake Data Cloud. As a Software Engineering Manager for Snowpark, you will lead and expand our distributed engineering team. Together with industry-wide experts in distributed systems, cross-cloud development and engineering excellence, you will evolve Snowflake to grow into a fully fledged Data Platform.

Snowpark unleashes the power of Snowflake for Data Engineers, Data Scientists, and Developers. Snowpark is an interface to Snowflake in different language environments, but also a platform that customers and partners build exciting applications on. And that's not all - Snowpark is also used by various teams at Snowflake to build new products and features for customers.

This is an opportunity to join Snowpark as a Software Engineering Manager and shape the future of this critical part of Snowflake. You will help drive product initiatives that will make Snowpark and Snowflake more intuitive to use for those already familiar with Spark and similar data processing engines.

OUR IDEAL MANAGER WILL HAVE:

Strong passion for making developers highly productive.

A passion for technology and end-to-end ownership mindset to support your engineering team wherever needed. This can sometimes show in hands-on support through design, code review, and development - or through more strategic contribution by generating cross-org alignment.

2+ years of software engineering management experience.

7+ years industry experience designing and building distributed data systems.

Excellent problem solving skills, and strong CS fundamentals including data structures, algorithms, and distributed systems.

Fluency with Python/C++/Java/Go; flexibility to adapt to new languages

Excellent interpersonal communication skills.

Outstanding written and oral English language skills. Polish is good for local communication, but not a prerequisite.

Ability to work on-site at our Warsaw (PL) office - 3 days.

BONUS POINTS FOR EXPERIENCE WITH THE FOLLOWING:

Developing data or distributed systems internals.

Experience working on internals of established data warehouses or data platforms
