CACI is currently looking for a motivated, career and customer-oriented Technical Documentation Writer with Agile methodology experience to join our Customs and Border Protection (CBP) Land Border Integration (LBI) Integrated Traveler Initiative II.I (ITI2.1) team in Northern Virginia! Join this passionate team of industry-leading individuals supporting the best practices in Agile Software Development and hardware integration for the Department of Homeland Security (DHS).
As a member of the ITI2.1 Team, you will support the men and women charged with safeguarding the American people and enhancing the Nation's safety, security, and prosperity. CBP Officers and Border Patrol agents are on the front lines, every day, protecting our national security by combining customs, immigration, border security, and agricultural protection into one coordinated and supportive activity.

What you'll get to do:
The position will be supporting the technical writing and producing of documentation for various deployed hardware and software systems and Monitoring and Maintenance of Deployed Systems (O&M) services. The ideal candidate should be an experienced, fast-learning, organized, and productive technical writer who can adapt to an environment running a mature Scrum-based Agile software development program. The Tech Writer will embed directly within a product-oriented software team and will be responsible for all documentation requirements ensuring they are met concurrent to the development of software and/or hardware.
Technical project documentation, reports, brochures, manuals and training material documentation for a wide range of uses.
Iterative updates to product user manuals, including graphics, formatting, editing, and the deployment of all material to production
Conform to all project standards to ensure high quality documentation
Manage project team documentation repository to ensure effective file management
Develop copy that adheres to best practice regarding document structure and logic flow. Excellent written and oral communications skills; must be able to interface effectively with SMEs and managers of all levels
Provide regular input to ongoing team workload estimation efforts
Ensure completion of all committed documentation tasks in parallel with software code development with frequent refactoring and tuning of artifacts
Develop new and refine existing technical writing processes to enhance quality and productivity
You have:
Must be a U.S. Citizen with the ability to pass CBP background investigation, criteria includes, but not limited to:
3-year check for felony convictions
1-year check for illegal drug use
1-year check for misconduct such as theft or fraud
Five+ (5+) years of demonstrated technical writing experience
College degree (B.A.; B.S.) in a related discipline
Expert in Microsoft Word, including template design
Experience with Adobe Acrobat Pro, Adobe FrameMaker or InDesign, and Adobe Photoshop
Knowledge of document and repository management practices, including using SharePoint, Team Foundation Server, or similar tools
Strong attention to detail and collaboration skills
Ability to interface with various disciplines and personalities, as well as work independently
Strong @contextual understanding of technical terminology
Experience with desktop publishing, automated work processing, and other digital information technology applications, particularly electronic publishing
Experience relating to engineering and maintenance drawings and/or operational procedures to include the knowledge and ability to interpret, absorb, and synthesize large quantities of computer system and application-related information
Understanding of all elements of the software development life cycle, including planning, development, requirements management, CM, quality assurance, and release management
Experience editing technical documentation in an Agile Scrum environment
Ability to apply advanced principles, theories, and concepts, and contribute to the development of innovative principles and ideas.
Must be available to work a hybrid schedule with an on-site requirement in Sterling, VA

The proposed salary range for this position is:
$70,800 - $148,600
