Raytheon's Air and Space Defense Systems (ASDS) Strategic Sensors and Precision Strike (SSPS) area has an exciting opportunity for an Associate Director, Contracts to support its Precision Strike and Mission Integrated Systems (PS and MIS) Product lines. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing a team of contracts professionals engaged in the pursuit and execution of critical defense products and services to both domestic and international customers. These products include, but are not limited to: Paveway®, Maverick, Griffin, HARM, international C4I programs, and sustainment of deployed assets both domestically and internationally.
In this role, you will have direct supervisory responsibilities and lead the front-end assessment of business pursuits, proposal preparation, contract negotiation, contract management, and significant customer activities to provide for proper contract acquisition and fulfillment of contract requirements in accordance with company policies, legal requirements, and customer specifications.
You will need to have a business acumen and program knowledge to understand programs performance, provide guidance and influence outcomes to achieve program and financial objectives. The successful candidate must have a track record of success in contracting with the Department of Defense, with Foreign Military Sales (FMS), including terms and conditions, Federal Acquisition Regulations/Defense Federal Acquisition Regulations Supplement (FAR/DFARS), Letter of Offer and Acceptance (LOA) process, Undefinitized Contract Actions (UCAs) and risk mitigation during a program lifecycle. In addition, the successful candidate must have experience with large competitions or Direct Commercial Sales (DCS) contracts, preferably with the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, NATO, South Korea, and other international partners.
The successful candidate will be expected to have the prerequisite skills and experience to represent Raytheon independently on significant or complex transactions while having ability to develop and maintain trusting relationships with varied customers.
What You Will Do
Active engagement in front-end strategic assessment of bids and proposals, to include identifying significant or unusual risks, including those in the financial, technical or schedule areas while supporting Annual Operating Plan (AOP) objectives
Develop customer engagement strategies necessary for successful contract execution and resolution
Develop pre-negotiation objectives and implement negotiation strategy reviews as part of the proposal development process
Negotiate directly with DoD and international customers and develop trusting relationships internally and externally
Coach, manage, and strategically lead an organization of approximately 6 contracting professionals to continuously improve the overall quality, capability, and bench strength of the contract's organization
Handle all contracts duties resulting in achieving program and business area objectives
Lead coordination of any payment issues to ensure compliant and timely payment in support of AOP
Deploy strong interpersonal relationship skills and ability to collaborate cross-functionally to achieve Program objectives
Travel domestically or internationally is required
Qualifications You Must Have
Typically requires a University Degree or equivalent experience and minimum 12 years prior relevant experience, or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 10 years of experience
Experience managing, administering and negotiating contracts and/or subcontracts under the FAR/DFARS with U.S. and international customers
Experience reporting on contract performance to Contracts and Program stakeholders
Experience supervising dispersed/remote teams
Experience with compliance processes such as Export/Import (EXIM), Truth in Negotiation Act (TINA), and transactional due diligence
Qualifications We Prefer
Demonstrated influential people leader with cross-functional leadership ability within a geographically dispersed team
MBA or JD
Contract management certification (e.g. NCMA or WorldCC)
Active U.S. Secret Clearance

Employees who are working in remote roles will work primarily offsite (from home) but may be expected to travel to the site location as needed. The successful candidate for this role will be required to reside and work from one of the 50 U.S. states (excluding U.S. territories).
The salary range for this role is 147,000 USD - 295,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels.
