The Strategic Non-Kinetic Effects (SNKE) Mission Center at MITRE is a new and emerging organization within MITRE focused on developing cutting-edge capabilities to gain and maintain strategic advantage. We are a cross-functional team of analysts, subject-matter-experts, engineers, and innovators working to deliver meaningful solutions to the nation's most pressing security challenges. Roles & Responsibilities:
The Department is currently seeking mid-career intelligence professionals to contribute individual technical expertise and support to a diverse and growing work program focused on developing cutting-edge capabilities to gain and maintain strategic advantage.
Evaluate existing methodologies and develop recommendations for improved processes, tools, analytics, and infrastructure;
Identify and leverage capabilities from across MITRE that enable the Sponsor to measurably increase mission impact;
Support intelligence collection operations by partnering closely with Sponsor leaders to apply human and technological capabilities that enable successful operational/mission outcomes;?
Convey technical, analytic, and organizational findings, recommendations, and approaches to senior executive decision makers.
Lead or contribute to the design and execution of complex research and analysis projects related to strategic non-kinetic effects, ensuring deliverables meet high standards of quality and relevance.
Mentor and guide junior staff and colleagues, fostering a culture of continuous learning and professional development within the team.
Develop and maintain strong relationships with government sponsors, industry partners, and academic collaborators to facilitate information sharing and joint initiatives.
Proactively identify gaps in current capabilities and propose innovative solutions to address emerging threats and mission needs.
Support the development and execution of workshops, tabletop exercises, and scenario planning activities to inform strategic decision-making.
Represent MITRE and the SNKE Mission Center at interagency meetings, conferences, and working groups, effectively communicating technical insights and strategic recommendations.
Contribute to the development of thought leadership materials, including white papers, articles, and presentations, to advance the field of strategic non-kinetic effects.
Assist in the preparation of proposals and business development activities to expand the SNKE Mission Center's portfolio and impact.
Ensure compliance with all relevant legal, ethical, and security requirements in the conduct of research and operational support activities.
Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams of researchers, analysts, and project managers across MITRE and with external partners.
Support the development of strategic recommendations and policy options for government sponsors and DoD stakeholders, translating complex technical analysis into actionable policy recommendations.
Basic Qualifications:
Typically requires a minimum of 10 years of related experience with a bachelor's degree; or 8 years and a master's degree; or a PhD with 5 years' experience; or equivalent combination of related education and work experience.
Applicants selected for this position must have a TS clearance.
Experience or interest in operational technology, space, or weapon system cybersecurity.
Ability to work with others to solve challenging technical problems.
Possess working knowledge of or strong interest in core cybersecurity principals, policies, and standards.
Ability to think critically, work in group settings, and be proactive in pursuing research and problem solving.
Experience with analyzing raw threat intelligence from one or more collection disciplines (ex. SIGINT, HUMINT, GEOINT, etc.) in support to operations and/or analysis.
Experience working with or analyzing the defense industrial base, including its supply chains, technology development, and acquisition processes. Knowledge of key players, challenges, and opportunities within the defense sector.

Deep understanding of technology trends, emerging technologies, and innovation ecosystems. Ability to assess the potential of new technologies for defense and national security applications.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to synthesize complex technical information and draw actionable conclusions.
Experience bridging and enabling collaboration between the public and private sectors.
Knowledge of U.S. government policies related to the use of authorities to effect economic outcomes.
This position requires a minimum of 4 days a week on-site.
Preferred Qualifications:
Intelligence community acquisition, planning, programming, budgeting, and execution experience.
Familiarity with broad intelligence community organizational and governance structures, policy generation processes, life cycle acquisition processes, and/or requirements processes.
Ability to obtain and maintain a TS/SCI level security clearance, including polygraph
Familiarity with control systems in a critical infrastructure environment (manufacturing, power plant, water/wastewater, or equivalent) with awareness of of OT, ICS, SCADA, PLCs, DCS, IEDs, Industrial Firewalls, or DCS and related hardware and software.
Familiarity with the intent, capability and operations of top tier nation-station adversary threat groups targeting operational technology in critical infrastructure, space, or weapon systems.
