Description We are looking for an experienced Accounting Manager to join our team on a contract basis for a 7-week assignment in Baltimore, Maryland. This role will play a vital part in ensuring the accuracy and timeliness of financial operations during a high-volume reporting period. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in nonprofit accounting, expertise in Sage Intacct, and the ability to manage month-end and year-end closings seamlessly. This is a hands-on opportunity to contribute to a nonprofit organization while ensuring financial processes remain uninterrupted.

Responsibilities:

Oversee monthly and fiscal year-end closing processes, including preparing journal entries, reconciliations, and accruals.

Ensure the general ledger accounts are accurately reconciled and supported with proper documentation.

Maintain and adhere to the month-end and year-end close calendar to meet strict deadlines.

Assist in preparing for the annual financial audit by compiling schedules, documentation, and audit workpapers.

Support internal control documentation and compliance testing related to audit requirements.

Utilize Sage Intacct for general ledger functions, bank reconciliations, financial reporting, and validation of transactions.

Ensure the accuracy of financial data within Sage Intacct, including classifications and dimensions.

Collaborate with the finance team to ensure smooth continuity of accounting operations during the contract period.

Provide guidance and support to team members regarding Sage Intacct functionality and reporting needs. Requirements - Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.

At least 5 years of accounting experience, with 3 years in nonprofit organizations preferred.

Extensive hands-on experience with Sage Intacct, including the ability to independently navigate and troubleshoot the system.

Strong knowledge of month-end and year-end closing processes.

Proven experience in supporting or managing nonprofit audit preparation.

Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, with intermediate to advanced skills.

Ability to work independently, adapt to new environments quickly, and prioritize competing tasks.

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify and resolve accounting discrepancies independently.
