Summary This position is part of the Defense Media Activity. The incumbent will be responsible for IT security in support of organization Mission Networks and Systems. Responsibilities As a Information Technology Specialist (INFOSEC/PLCYPLN) at the GS-2210-13 some of your typical work assignments may include: Analyzes, evaluates, and advises on the current and predicted future operational, technical, and data views of agency enterprise and Cloud IT architecture. Experience in development of cloud architecture plans supporting Organization Plans and its Strategic Direction and using corporately approved IT solutions for infrastructure design/modeling tools such as Visio and Unified Modeling Language UML. Reviews, analyses, evaluations, and comparison of DoD CLOUD IT Architecture requirements versus anticipated corporate, commodity and customer needs. Formulates strategies for achieving objectives, and in interpreting, presenting, implementing, and monitoring projects and studies. Develops milestones to ensure compliance with policies and recommends policy changes to fit the requirements of new systems. Experience liaison/supervisor of integrated project teams (IPTs) organized to develop plans for new or enhanced systems. Provides expert technical advice, guidance, and recommendations to management and other technical specialists on critical IA issues, security concepts, standards, and methods. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications You may qualify at the GS-13, if you fulfill the following qualifications: A. One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-12 grade level in the Federal service: Providing expert technical advice, guidance, and recommendations to management and other technical specialists on critical Information Assurance (IA) issues, security concepts, standards, and methods. Maintaining an organization information system-level Information Assurance (IA) program that identifies IA architecture, requirements, objectives, policies, personnel, and processes and procedures. Analyzes complex information security problems, mission vulnerabilities, security impacts to mission assurance, and convergence difficulties involving multiple security disciplines and other functional areas and provides cost effective, efficient, and productive solutions to ensure mission success. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment.
