Job Summary:
The Electrical Engineering Component Engineer performs routine and varied work relating to the application and management of component parts used in the design and manufacture of electronic and mechanical systems.
Essential Functions:
Accountable for producing thorough and accurate work of suitable complexity that meets all customer specifications and company requirements for schedule, cost, producibility, quality, and reliability
Provide support for failure analysis of components from various commodites as needed
Develop familiarity with company products and develop/apply component selection, development, qualification and other parts control processes.
Understand performance characteristics and market conditions for components within their commodity of specialization
Create new part numbers within engineering and business system tools and prepare and maintain specifications as required
Liaise with Design Engineering, Quality, Configuration Management, Manufacturing Engineering, Supply Chain and Customer Support functions as required.
Drive Obsolescence/material availability management activities including monitoring, reporting of Obsolescence Risk, responding to End of Life Notifications, developing alternate part solutions, and executing Last Time Buy purchases
Provide and maintain all reports, metrics, data and/or other deliverables as required
Any other task assigned by your supervisor or management
Minimum Qualifications:
Experience : 5+ years of experience as an Electrical Engineer or Component Engineer in an Avionics environment, or equivalent electronics design and/or manufacturing experience
Education/Certification: BA or BS degree Electrical Engineering or related field
Knowledge: Demonstrated expertise in Electronic Component Management procedures and practices; familiarity with microcircuits and other electronic components; familiarity with military and industry standards for electronic components. Working knowledge of electronics design and part reliability is a plus.
Skills/Abilities: Expert Materials Requirement Planning (MRP) and/or Product Lifecycle Maintenance (PLM) software expertise; Proficient with the Microsoft Office suite and basic database skills. Ability to lead through influence and persuasion; Excellent organizational, interpersonal, and communications skills; Demonstrated multitasking and prioritization skills; Demonstrated ability to follow and improve processes; Ability to rely on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals; Ability to work well within a team environment
Eligibility Requirement: This position may require access to Controlled Data or Information. Where the position requires such access only US Persons will be considered. As a US Department of Defense contractor, we are bound by International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR).
Top Benefits:
Salary range: $109,400.00 to $146,000.00. Several factors contribute to actual salary, including experience in a similar role or performing comparable job responsibilities, skills, training, and other qualifications. Some roles may be eligible for participation in performance-based bonus programs.
