The Advancement Data and Research Analyst will play a critical role in supporting the University at Albany's fundraising efforts by ensuring the integrity, optimization, and strategic use of constituent data. This position will lead efforts to fully leverage our new CRM, Raiser's Edge (RE) NXT, including developing user training, documenting procedures, and refining workflows for greater efficiency. In addition to maintaining high standards of data cleanliness and managing constituent and affiliation coding across systems, the Analyst will utilize AI-based tools and predictive modeling to drive fundraising and prospect management, and strategy. The Analyst will also work closely with colleagues and departments to create data-driven reports and dashboards that support pipeline development and organizational decision-making.
Primary Responsibilities:
Working with Advancement Information colleagues, develop systems to fully optimize our new CRM?Raiser's Edge NXT. This would include bolstering user-adoption and training, developing and documenting database procedures to ensure consistency and refining and ultimately automating workflows.
Regularly meet with a selected portfolio of unit/department "customers" to develop data strategies, reports and metrics.
Provide a comprehensive range of prospect management, research, analysis, data analytics, artificial intelligence, and data modeling in order to successfully execute the flow of prospects into and through the major donor pipeline.
Utilize AI-based tools and predictive modeling software to enhance fundraising strategy.
Engage in ongoing database cleanup projects and identify other areas of the database that require attention, with a focus on preparing data for use in AI-driven fundraising initiatives.
Manage constituent data and affiliation coding across Raiser's Edge databases.
Facilitate the distribution of mailing lists by coordinating Advancement staff and faculty/staff from departments around campus via the creation and administration of RE NXT queries.
Manage the prospect assignment process, ensuring accurate and timely updates within Raiser's Edge.
Collaborate with colleagues to produce reports and dashboards analyzing data accuracy, data cleanliness, prospect pipeline metrics, and campaign performance.
Occasionally perform back-up gift and data entry.

Job Requirements:
Ability to work independently and manage several projects simultaneously while exercising critical thinking skills.
Knowledge of current trends in database administration, prospect management, prospect research, and fundraising campaigns.
Ability to handle confidential information.
Knowledge of fee-based research databases such as LexisNexis for Development Professionals.

Job Requirements:
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree from a college or University accredited by the US Department of Education or internationally recognized accrediting organization.
Three to five years of development-related experience.
Experience in the use, analysis, and modeling of data including creating reports and interpreting data.
Familiarity in Excel and experience utilizing databases to review donors, produce queries and reports, and update records.

Preferred Qualifications:
One to three years of experience working in Raiser's Edge NXT.
Experience developing dashboards or reports in CRM or business intelligence systems.
Master's degree from a college or University accredited by the US Department of Education or internationally recognized accrediting organization.
