We are hiring an Attorney. This is a highly complex position operating with considerable independence and must exercise discretion and judgment in evaluating cases.

Minimum Qualifications

Possession of a current Louisiana license to practice law.

Job Duties and Other Information

Job Duties:

Prepare and try civil suits in courts.

Reviews and approves legal documents and respond to issues needing legal opinion and clarification within the Department.

Provides legal analysis of state and federal statues, rules, and regulations to ensure agency compliance and assist staff.

Perform notarial duties as needed.

Position-Specific Details:

Appointment Type: Probational, Promotional, or Job Appointment

Career Progression: May be filled as an Attorney 1-3 depending on experience.

Work Schedule: Typically, work hours are 8:00 am to 4:30 pm, Monday - Friday. Flexible work schedules are available after meeting certain criteria and is dependent upon the position you are applying for. Some positions require working shifts.

Compensation:

Special Entrance Rates have been established for the following Attorney job titles:

Attorney 1 $27.08 hourly (AS-617)

Attorney 2 $28.98 hourly (AS-618)

Attorney 3 $32.02 hourly (AS-620)

The referenced positions are also eligible for premium pay of up to $2.00 per hour for hours work based on specific criteria.
