ANALYST II - INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES FOR THE ANALYST II - INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY Researches, designs, develops, installs, and maintains technology solutions (hardware and software) for the corporate infrastructure using expanded development and system support skill set. Provides physical delivery and ongoing support of moderately complex products/services, applications, network systems and overall solutions. Performs all standard systems upgrades, workstation setups and server configurations. Maintains software and hardware inventories. Works with various standard software tools, languages, technology platforms and third-party application software products. Performs all other duties and special projects as assigned.

REQUIRED FOR THE ANALYST II - INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY Two year college degree required. One to five years of Information Technology experience required. Understands the key business drivers; uses this knowledge in own work. Expands fundamental knowledge in own function and broadens skills. Accountable for technical contribution to a project team or sub-team. Works with others to achieve team goals through expanded knowledge and skills within own function. May be accountable for subsets for project deliverables. Has no formal role in managing projects. Aware of costs and assists in controlling costs related to own work. Knowledge of Carpenter IT systems and business. Knowledge of relevant infrastructure technologies including but not limited to: Mainframe operating systems and software Storage hardware and software Network hardware, software, and cabling Network Services - voice and data PC and server hardware and operating systems Solves a range of problems in straightforward situations; analyzes possible solutions and assesses each using standard procedures. Responds to non-standard requests from customers; investigates with assistance from others as needed. Works with moderate guidance in own area of knowledge. Ability to organize and prioritize tasks and make appropriate decisions. Ability to work with moderate supervision encounters a broad scope of projects. Verbal and written communication skills. Maintains effective working relationships within the department as well as externally. Ability to work in a team environment. Analytical skills. Problem solving skills. Stays abreast of new technology.
