Position: Specialist, Assistant Manufacturing Engineer
Location : Devens, MA
Key Responsibilities
Provide engineering support of automated manufacturing production equipment for both upstream and downstream processes. Equipment to be supported include, but not limited to bioreactors, depth filters, centrifugation, column chromatography and ultrafiltration/diafiltration (UFDF) systems.
The Manufacturing Engineer is also responsible for support of clean in place (CIP), steam in place (SIP) and process operations for several manufacturing unit operations.
The Manufacturing Engineer will work in a fast-paced manufacturing focused environment, and will work cross functionally to support the Manufacturing, Quality, Automation and Validation teams through execution of change controls and ownership of CAPA, and safety action plans.
Support maintenance activities including review of preventative maintenance (PM), engineering drawing updates, and out of tolerance investigations for calibration of critical equipment.
Qualifications & Experience:
Knowledge generally attained through studies resulting in a B.S. in engineering (Chemical or Mechanical preferred), a related discipline or equivalent.
0 - 2 years of experience in a cGMP manufacturing setting, or equivalent technical environment. Co-op or internship experience in the biopharmaceutical industry, including experience with manufacturing equipment support, is desired.
The individual should have the ability to execute projects which are well defined and not complex in nature, and should have demonstrated effectiveness working in both a team environment as well as an individual contributor role.
Core competencies are expected to be high level critical thinking skills, ability to communicate well across various functions, and a strong desire to learn fundamentals of biopharmaceutical manufacturing.
Ability to work extended hours or a modified work schedule is required for coverage of 24/7 manufacturing operations. The position is Monday through Friday, first shift, but requires on call availability. regular shift Monday- Friday 8:00 am - 5:00 pm

The starting compensation for this job is a range from $78,760 .00 USD to $95,400.00 USD plus incentive cash and stock opportunities (based on eligibility).
The starting pay rate takes into account characteristics of the job, such as required skills and where the job is performed.
Final, individual compensation will be decided based on demonstrated experience.
