ABOUT THE ROLE
CoStar Group is seeking a highly technical and strategic Team Lead, Product Management to lead initiatives that ensure our data pipelines and feeds are reliable, scalable, and deliver high-quality insights to our global research teams. In this role, you'll be responsible for shaping the vision and roadmap for our data products, primarily focusing on data integrity, standardization, and usability. Your work will empower company researchers to collect, validate, and analyze real estate data from around the world with confidence and efficiency. This position is in Richmond, VA, and offers a schedule of Monday to Thursday in office and work from home on Friday.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Product Strategy & Vision:
Define and own the product strategy and roadmap for data management and quality initiatives across global real estate datasets.
Drive innovation with automation, ML-powered validation, and enrichment initiatives.
Communicate a 6-month vision to senior research stakeholders, maintaining transparency and building relationships.
Data Quality
Establish data quality metrics and monitoring frameworks to ensure consistency, accuracy, and reliability of all data feeds.
Ensure data products are secure, compliant, and deliver measurable business value.
Team Leadership
Lead and mentor business analysts, ensuring priorities are clear and their work drives measurable impact.
Build a strong, collaborative team culture focused on data excellence and problem-solving.
Cross-Functional Leadership
Work closely with researchers, data scientists, and engineers to solve complex data challenges to improve research workflows.
Align teams around shared goals and ensure smooth delivery of high-impact data features.
Act as the voice of data needs, translating technical requirements into actionable product plans.
Metrics & Impact
Own KPIs tied to data completeness, reliability, and researcher productivity.
Track product performance and user feedback to fuel continuous improvement.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
Experience leading a team of Product Manager, Product Owners, or Business Analysts
Bachelor's Degree from an accredited, not-for-profit University or College.
3+ years of product management experience, with at least 2 years with a focus on data-driven products and applications.
Strong understanding of data pipelines, ETL processes, APIs, and data warehousing
Proven experience working with engineering and data science teams to build data-centric products.
Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to balance technical depth with user needs.
Proven ability to build strong relationships with internal stakeholders (e.g., researchers, senior leaders) and earn trust through thoughtful, user-centered solutions.
Excellent communication and storytelling abilities-able to simplify complex technical concepts for cross-functional teams.
Takes initiative with a strong sense of ownership, driven by curiosity and a desire to solve problems before they surface.
Collaborated in agile-scrum processes.
Track record of commitment to prior employers
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS
5+ years of experience with industry-leading digital products.
Data Analysis and Interpretation: Ability to analyze data, identify trends, and translate findings into actionable insights.
Data Flow Diagramming: Effectively utilize tools like Figma, LucidCharts, or Visio to create clear and concise data flow diagrams to visualize and explain complex data processes and system interactions to both technical and non-technical audiences.
Experience managing or mentoring business analysts, data product owners, or other cross-functional team members.
Hands-on experience with data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI, Looker) for surfacing insights to stakeholders.
Advanced technical proficiency and comfortable reviewing API specs, SQL queries, or ETL processes.
