POSITION: FULL TIME DIESEL EQUIPMENT TECHNOLOGY INSTRUCTOR (Gainesville, GA)
REPORTS TO: Dean of Applied Technology & Transportation
SALARY: Mid $70's annually, depending on education and qualifications

RESPONSIBILITIES:
This full-time position will deliver courses for Lanier Technical College's Diesel Equipment Technology program at the Hall campus and/or Lanier Career and College Academy locations. Under general supervision, responsibilities include the following:
· Develop program and course outlines, goals, and objectives.
· Prepare lesson plans for classroom instruction for credited technology courses.
· Develop syllabi to meet program and school objectives.
· Evaluate student progress in attaining goals and objectives.
· Request and maintain supplies and equipment, and prepares required budget requests.
· Maintain program certification requirements, as appropriate.
· Prepare and maintain all required documentation and administrative reports.
· Attend required staff development training, workshops, and seminars.
· Ensure safety and security requirements are met in the training area.
· Meet with students, staff members and other educators to discuss students' instructional programs and other issues impacting the progress of the students.
· Assist with program recruitment, retention and job placement efforts.
· Conduct bi-annual program industry advisory committee meetings.
· Work with local advisory committee to identify equipment to support training in the areas of advanced manufacturing and artificial intelligence as related to the food production industry.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
· Technical Diploma in Diesel Equipment Technology or closely related field from a regionally accredited college or university AND demonstrated competencies in specific course content;
· Three years relevant work experience in a field related to diesel equipment technology;
· Must be credentialed to satisfy all appropriate accrediting bodies for the courses assigned.
TECHNICAL COMPETENCIES:
· Ability to work flexible hours and teach at the Hall campus and/or at associated LTC remote sites in the Hall County area.
· Knowledge of pedagogical practice and theory.
· Knowledge of academic course standards, and LTC's academic programs.
· Knowledge of the mission of postsecondary technical education.
· Skilled in the operation of computers and job-related software programs.
· Effective oral and written communication skills, decision-making, and problem-solving skills.
· Ability to handle administrative responsibilities related to teaching courses, data collection, & reporting for licensing and accreditation agencies.
· Strong organizational and interpersonal skills, positive attitude and appropriate attire.
· Skill in the preparation and delivery of classroom content;
· Skill to work and communicate cooperatively with students, faculty, and staff.
· Ability to develop curriculum and successfully deliver courses in areas that include:
o Diesel Engines
o Electrical Systems
o Preventive Maintenance
o Brake Systems
o Steering and Suspension Systems
o Tools and Safety
o Electrical/Troubleshooting skills in multiplexing/CAN-Bus
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS (in addition to minimum qualifications and competencies) :
· More than three (3) years of work experience in a position related to diesel equipment technology
· Previous teaching experience in a post-secondary environment.
An Associate's degree in Diesel Equipment Technology or closely related field from a regionally accredited college or university
Manufacturer Trained/Certified in multiple diesel equipment lines
ASE Master Certified in Medium / Heavy Truck
Knowledge of Blackboard (Learning Management System) is desirable.
