DIRECTOR Department: Finance Department Reports to: Finance Director
Grade/Salary: Grade 12, \$58,160 to \$72,800 FLSA Status/Hours: Exempt,
40 Hours per week Revised: 8/1/2025 Summary: Under the direct
supervision of the Finance Director this is a position responsible for
completing and overseeing a variety of technical financial and
accounting functions. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: To perform
this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each
essential function satisfactorily and in a timely manner. The following
duties are normal for this position. These are not to be construed as
exclusive or all inclusive. Other duties may be required or assigned.
Assists the Finance Director with preparation and implementation of
budgets. Assists department heads and their financial staff with
recording vouchers, managing their financial accounting records,
assisting departments with grant applications and record keeping, etc.
Responsible for supervising accounts payable and accounts receivable,
preparing and recording journal entries and many other tasks as
assigned. Responsible for providing information for the annual indirect
cost plan audit. Oversee the Northwoods Community Development Block
Grants (CDBG) and County\'s CDBG Program. Assist the Finance Director by
gathering, analyzing and reporting financial information as needed. Work
together with County departments and agencies in providing financial and
accounting data. Assist with closing the year-end books and assisting
the auditors with the annual audit. Prepares reconciliation of accounts,
including but not limited to cash reconciliation. All other duties as
assigned. Qualifications: To perform this job successfully, an

Education and/or Experience; Associate\'s degree in Accounting with
three years of governmental accounting experience or five years
progressive experience in accounting or finance, preferably within a
governmental unit. Bachelor\'s degree is preferred. Knowledge, Skills
and Abilities: Ability to work without supervision and make accurate and
independent decisions. Excellent organizational skills, ability to
complete time sensitive tasks, with a strong degree of self-direction
and motivation required. Ability to comprehend and interpret a variety
of documents including budgets, financial information, policy manuals,
federal and state guidelines, etc. Knowledge of data processing
capabilities as they apply to financial record keeping. Ability to keep
accurate records and prepare detailed reports. Ability to work under
pressure in meeting deadlines. Ability to communicate effectively with
Department Heads, Elected Officials and the general public verbally and
in writing. Ability to understand and complete complex oral and written
instructions. Ability to appreciate and maintain the confidential nature
of the position. Ability to work well with others and provide excellent
customer service. Ability to perform accounting, accounting and business
analytics. Technological Skills: Working knowledge of Windows and
Microsoft Office Suite. Physical Demands: The physical demands described
