CNC Programmer/Mold Maker - Winston Salem Manufacturing
SUMMARY:
The CNC Programmer/Molder Maker position is responsible for writing CNC programs and to manufacture model components, patterns and production molds used for both internal and external forming needs. CNC programming projects require identification of various machining operations and determination of the sequence in which the machine operations have to be carried out. The amount of material to be removed in each step must also be considered.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE THE FOLLOWING:
Program vac form patterns and production tooling components using MasterCam and SolidWorks software.
Set up and operate CNC milling machines to produce production tooling and other components needed for thermoforming machines.
Inspect all finished components to assure that they meet required specifications.
Train apprentices on CNC operations and Master Cam software
Required to manufacture the finished job in a timely manner.
Responsible for the overall Safety and cleanliness of equipment and area.
Work in a safe and efficient manner in accordance with company policies and procedures.
Overtime is required.
Perform other duties as assigned.

Availability, viewed as a snapshot of the current production efficiency for a machine, line or cell. OEE = (A)vailabilty x (P)erformance x (Q)uality. Expressed another way: Related Machine Speed (P) x Crewed Hours (A)/ Good Sheets Out (Q). This section evaluates the employee's performance to maximize the OEE on his/her machine.
Attendance/Punctuality - Includes being present and ready for work as expected. Indicators are attendance records, number of times tardy, frequency of lateness returning from scheduled breaks or meal times, work readiness, and preparedness to begin work on time. (Three unexcused tardies equals one unexcused absence)
Procedures/Documentation/Reporting - Refers to the importance of following procedures, carefully and thoroughly documenting critical activities, including training, and to the accurate reporting of information. QUALIFICATIONS

Education and/or Experience
High school diploma or GED minimum; AAS degree or machinist training preferrred. This position requires at least two (2) years of CNC set up and operation experience. Must have thorough understanding of mold designs and thermoforming applications.
Language Skills
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. May require the ability to write routine reports and correspondence. May require the ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.
Mathematical Skills
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
Reasoning Ability
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
Computer Skills
To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of and basic computer skills. Programming CNC tool paths using MasterCam and Solidworks software.
OTHER QUALIFICATIONS
The CNC Programmer/CNC Mold Maker position requires a good understanding of designs and construction methods to produce Thermoform tooling.
