This is an excellent entry-level opportunity for a new or recent engineering graduate. Sustain and improve existing manufacturing processes for Harris pontoon boats. Harris is a high-end pontoon brand and is part of the Brunswick Corporation. People in this position will learn under experienced engineers.

Provide production support to the manufacturing team
Assist with evaluating and resolving safety, quality, delivery, and productivity issues
Program and support CNC, laser, and press brake equipment
Conceptualize, design, and create CAD drawings for new tools and fixtures
Fabricate, assemble, and validate tools and fixtures
Create work instructions and conduct training for new equipment and processes
Collect and analyze data to drive continuous improvement and cost reduction initiatives
Perform time studies and analyze data to line balance and optimize labor
Identify root causes and implement corrective actions to reduce/eliminate issues
Participate in the new product development (NPD) process to ensure the product design incorporates design for manufacturability (DFM)
Participate in manufacturing readiness activities in preparation for new product introduction (NPI)
Act as a liaison between manufacturing, product engineering and other departments
Perform other duties as assigned
Diversity of thought and experiences is fundamental when imagining the unimaginable. Certain skillsets/experiences are necessary; however, others can be developed along the way.
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering Technology preferred. Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or other 4-year engineering degrees will be considered
2+ years of experience in a technical role supporting mechanical product assembly or equivalent internship/co-op experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment
Strong computer skills, including advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and general MS Office applications.
3D CAD knowledge required (SolidWorks or comparable)
Must be a self-starter and be able to work independently with minimum supervision
Must be detail oriented, accurate and able to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment
Must have strong troubleshooting skills
Ability to use hand tools and power equipment
Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles
Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to interact professionally across all functional areas.
Demonstrated innovation, team collaboration, and the ability to work well under pressure.
Preferred Qualifications:
CNC router programming experience
Powder coat process knowledge
Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles with a proven track record of success
Certified Six Sigma Green Belt or ability to obtain certification
Familiarity with lean six sigma tools such as DMAIC, 5-Why, 8-D, and 5S
Experience participating in Kaizen events
Knowledge of PFMEA
Experience justifying and leading capital equipment projects is a plus.
Physical Requirements - Frequent standing and lifting of heavy objects weighing 50 to 100 pounds. Frequent walking, pushing, pulling, reaching, squatting, kneeling, stair climbing, and using fine hand movements such as tightening screws, bolts, and securing pins. Vision requirements include close vision, peripheral vision, and ability to adjust focus. Environmental demands include working both indoors and outdoors and is seasonally exposed to extreme temperatures.
Travel Requirements - 0% - 5%
The anticipated pay range for this position is $57,700 - $83,000 annually. The actual base pay offered will vary depending on multiple factors including job-related knowledge/skills, relevant experience, business needs, and geographic location.
At Brunswick, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top end of the salary range for their role. Compensation decisions are dependent upon the specifics of the candidate's qualifications and the business @context.
