The Senior Vice President (SVP) will be a key member of the U.S. Personal Banking (USPB) Chief of Staff Office, reporting to the Chief of Staff of USPB and directly supporting the Head of USPB. This high-impact role is crucial for shaping and executing the strategic and administrative agenda for the business, encompassing strategic planning, operational cadence, business management, and special projects. The SVP will operate with a high degree of autonomy and influence, driving key initiatives, and collaborating with senior leadership across the organization.
Responsibilities:
Strategic Planning:
Lead the development and execution of strategic initiatives, including preparing comprehensive analyses and presentations for CEO business reviews, the annual Operating Plan, regulatory meetings, on/offsites, and other internal and external meetings.
Proactively identify and evaluate emerging business opportunities through in-depth research and analysis, formulating recommendations for strategic growth.
Operating Routines: Oversee management of routines/regularly occurring meetings (e.g., Leadership Team meetings, Monthly Operating Reviews, etc.), ensuring there is clear agenda and objective setting, coordinating materials, and tracking follow-ups.
Business Management & Collaboration:
Serve as a liaison to the Office of the CEO, collaborating closely with other EMT Chief of Staff Offices to ensure seamless coordination and communication.
Independently manage complex requests from senior leadership, coordinating meeting agendas, facilitating information gathering, and driving timely follow-ups.
Partner with Public Affairs to develop and execute internal communications strategies, including Town Halls, organizational announcements, and newsletters.
Collaborate with Finance and HR to drive critical priorities and streamline routine business management processes, ensuring operational efficiency and effectiveness.
Oversee the tracking of key performance indicators and provide regular updates to senior leadership.
Special Topics:
Prepare the Head of U.S. Personal Banking for external meetings, ensuring they are fully briefed and equipped to represent the business effectively.
Oversee the planning and execution of large-scale employee recognition events, fostering a positive and engaging work environment.
Develop and implement talent strategies and employee engagement initiatives to advance organizational and people strategy goals.
Lead productivity and cost savings initiatives in partnership with the senior management team, identifying opportunities for optimization and efficiency gains.
Appropriately assess risk in all business decisions, demonstrating a strong understanding of regulatory compliance and reputational risk, safeguarding Citigroup, its clients, and assets.
Leadership:
Mentor and guide junior team members, fostering a collaborative and supportive work environment.
Effectively influence and build consensus among cross-functional teams, driving alignment towards common goals.
Demonstrate strong communication and interpersonal skills, building and maintaining positive relationships with stakeholders at all levels.
Adapt leadership style to different situations, exhibiting flexibility and emotional intelligence in navigating complex organizational dynamics
Qualifications:
10 + years of experience in the financial services industry, with demonstrated expertise in product management, finance/FP&A, strategy, or capital markets.
Deep financial acumen and comprehensive knowledge of consumer cards, lending, and retail banking P&L components and key drivers.
Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to effectively communicate complex information to senior audiences.
Extensive experience in developing executive-level presentations and conducting in-depth data analysis with minimal oversight.
Proven strategic thinking abilities, a strong business mindset, and a deep understanding of the financial services industry.
Demonstrated ability to thrive in a fast-paced, demanding environment, exhibiting a strong work ethic and a commitment to continuous learning and growth.
Highly organized, detail-oriented, and results-driven, with a proven ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
Education:
Bachelor's Degree/University degree in a relevant field or equivalent experience
