About the role
Step into a leadership role that blends hands-on precision with team-driven impact. As a Team Captain , you'll work shoulder-to-shoulder with Machine Operators, guiding daily operations and driving high-quality output in a fast-paced production environment. This working lead position is all about influence-not authority-empowering your team through coordination, communication, and continuous improvement.
The Team Captain follows a rotating biweekly schedule: one week working Thursday through Sunday , and the next week Friday through Sunday , with consistent hours of 4:00 AM to 4:30 PM each shift.
Your responsibilities
Perform all duties of a Machine Operator, including operating and maintaining manufacturing equipment, monitoring process indicators, and completing production records.
Provide day-to-day direction and support to Machine Operators within the assigned area to ensure production goals are met.
Coordinate with Shift Supervisors and other departments to communicate production status, issues, and improvement opportunities.
Support onboarding and training of new team members and promote cross-training within the team.
Monitor adherence to safety, quality, and compliance standards and assist in resolving issues as they arise.
Foster a positive team environment by modeling professional behavior and encouraging collaboration.
Participate in and lead team huddles, shift handovers, and improvement initiatives.
Perform additional tasks as assigned to meet organizational, plant, team, and production goals.
This role is not currently sponsoring visas or considering international movement at this time.
The experience we're looking for
High school diploma, GED, or equivalent experience.
Stable employment history with a record of satisfactory attendance and punctuality.
Must have at least two (2) years previous experience in a manufacturing environment with demonstrated equipment operation skills.
Demonstrated leadership ability in a team environment; prior experience as a lead or trainer preferred.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively guide and support team members.
Ability to read, write, and speak English to comprehend instructions and apply knowledge effectively.
Basic math and computer skills.
Ability to follow instructions, adapt to change, and learn new processes within six months of hire.
Capable of frequently lifting up to 20 lbs.; may be required to lift up to 55 lbs. depending on departmental assignment.
Able to stand for extended periods of time, including up to 12 hours.
Willingness to work in environments with noise, strong odors (including fish products)
Able to follow all gowning and hygiene protocols, including wearing a full-body jumpsuit, hair net, beard cover (if applicable), foot coverings, and steel-toed shoes, as required by the production environment.
Must have prior experience working in regulated environments with strict quality standards and adherence to Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP).

Pay Range
Starting at $24 per hour+ depending on experience
Pay Transparency
The base salary range for this role will vary based on experience in job and industry, training and education, skills relevant to the position, and other factors permitted by law. In addition to the base salary, the position is eligible for an annual discretionary bonus, which is subject to change each year.
