Summary You will serve as an ELECTRONICS TECHNICIAN in the AIRFIELD OPERATIONS DIVISION of MARINE CORPS AIR STATION, NEW RIVER. Responsibilities You will perform a full range of planned and corrective maintenance on complex inter-facility Air Traffic Control (ATC) data and weather products. You will be responsible to maintain continued service of assigned data/voice communications including telecommunications infrastructures, local and wide area networks, programmable wireless modems, and integrated fiber optic systems. You will perform preflight Ground Inspections, maintenance and alignments of electronic systems to meet or exceed Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) standards. You will analyze, test, correct and verify systems performance for acceptance by ATC personnel, complete daily system operational checks and make appropriate entries into system logs. You will develop lesson plans and training aids, complete training reports and identify emerging training needs and requirements. You will ensure all planned maintenance materials, tools and publications are properly forecast for assigned maintenance and that all corrective and planned maintenance and supply requisitions are documented. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications GS-11: Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-10 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Maintaining Air Traffic Control (ATC) critical ground-based navigational aids by troubleshooting, installing, testing and/or modifying electronic systems to meet Command requirements. Examples of qualifying specialized experience include: Work as a technician, instructor, inspector, or mechanic (civilian or military) that showed progression in theoretical and practical knowledge of electronic theory, and of the characteristics, function, operation, and capabilities of a variety of @types of electronic equipment. This experience must have included the use of schematic diagrams, a variety of test equipment, and the application of appropriate electronic formulas involved in such duties as testing, troubleshooting, modifying, designing, calibrating, installing, maintaining, repairing, constructing, developing, and instructing on electronic equipment, or similar functions. Experience in developing policies, standards, and procedures for maintenance, installation, or similar functions, provided the work clearly shows that the applicant applied a specialized knowledge of the theories and principles of a variety of electronic systems or equipment.
