Job Title: Senior Data Scientist

Purpose and Objective:
SAP America, Inc. seeks a Senior Data Scientist at our Newtown Square, PA location to develop, implement, or apply data models or data mining algorithms to identify and solve business problems.
Expectations and Tasks:
Responsible for mathematical modeling of business problems. Solve business problems by developing algorithms, data mining flows and applications. Integrate and implement data mining into products or proto@types. Execute the mathematical modeling of customers' business problems, develop algorithms, data mining flows and applications to solve these problems, and help customers understand and implement the results of the analysis. Collaborate with industry experts and technology experts to translate customers' business needs into mathematical models and present and deliver a solution to the client. Integrate or implement data mining/ mathematical methods into products. Evaluate and test data mining methods. Proto@type new innovations and get them into the product. Contribute to data definitions, data storage infrastructure for data mining purposes, and Data Mining architectures. Resolve data mining performance issues, monitor data mining system performance, and implement efficiency improvements. Implement data mining algorithms if required. Work closely with product management, application developers, information developers and end users. Perform functional and empirical analysis on data mining topics. Conduct research on data mining tools and algorithms and validate proto@types on real data. Contribute to best practices for data mining topics and collaborate with development, universities, and research institutes.
Education and Occupational Experience:
Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Mathematics, Economics, Data Science, or a related field of study and six (6) years of progressive post-baccalaureate experience in the job offered or related occupation. Alternatively, a Master's degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Mathematics, Economics, Data Science, or a related field of study and four (4) years of experience in the job offered or related occupation.
Qualifications/Skills and Competencies Experience:
Experience must involve one (1) year in the following:
Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) in creation of Cloud Applications;
Cost of Cloud elements analysis and C-Level recommendations on risk mitigation;
Hyperscale demand capacity management;
Infrastructure accounting rules;
Cloud Revenue bookkeeping and maintenance;
Unauthorized cross-charge prevention; and
Recommend product improvements for future cloud products.

The annual base salary range for this position is $140,150 - $180,576. SAP believes the value of pay transparency contributes towards an honest and supportive culture and is a significant step toward demonstrating SAP's commitment to pay equity. SAP provides the annualized compensation range inclusive of base salary and variable incentive target for the career level applicable to the posted role. The targeted combined range for this position is $140,150 - $205,200. The actual amount to be offered to the successful candidate will be within that range, dependent upon the key aspects of each case which may include education, skills, experience, scope of the role, location, etc. as determined through the selection process. Any SAP variable incentive includes a targeted dollar amount and any actual payout amount is dependent on company and personal performance. Due to the nature of the role, which involves global interactions with SAP entities, as well as with employees and stakeholders in Canada, functional proficiency in English is required for positions based in the Quebec.
