Description We are looking for an experienced Buyer to join our team on a contract basis in Westlake, Ohio. This role focuses on procuring production materials, managing supplier relationships, and supporting maintenance and repair operations. The ideal candidate will bring expertise in AS/400 systems and demonstrate strong communication skills when collaborating with shop floor leads.

Responsibilities:

Source and procure production materials from domestic suppliers to meet operational needs.

Maintain supplier relationships to ensure timely delivery and quality standards.

Manage inventory levels and coordinate with maintenance teams for repair and upkeep requirements.

Collaborate with shop floor leads to address material needs and resolve supply chain issues.

Utilize AS/400 systems for efficient tracking and reporting of purchase orders.

Conduct market research to identify cost-effective procurement opportunities.

Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures during the purchasing process.

Prepare and maintain documentation related to procurement activities for audit and reporting purposes.

Work closely with internal teams to align purchasing strategies with business objectives. Requirements - Proven experience in procurement or buying roles, preferably in production environments.

Proficiency in IBM AS/400 systems for inventory tracking and reporting.

Familiarity with health information management systems such as AHLTA, McKesson, or EHR.

Strong understanding of maintenance and repair operations.

Ability to communicate effectively with shop floor leads and cross-functional teams.

Solid organizational skills with attention to detail and accuracy.

Knowledge of market trends and supplier management.

Capability to work independently and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
