The Manufacturing Engineer at GE Aerospace is responsible for developing, implementing, and improving manufacturing processes to ensure the production of high-quality aerospace components. The role typically involves collaboration with cross-functional teams to optimize safety, quality, delivery, and cost (SQDC), with safety being the top priority.
In this role, you will support the manufacturing, assembly, and testing of aerospace electrical power products. You will work on a cross-functional team to resolve daily manufacturing challenges, troubleshoot/resolve product issues, disposition and plan rework of non-conformances, perform root cause and corrective action activities, and implement strategic projects. You will deploy/enhance manufacturing processes, lead component failure analysis, and drive continuous improvement.
Our Vandalia facility is located 50 minutes north of the GE Aerospace headquarters and sits just north of the city of Dayton-known widely as the birthplace of aviation-where the Wright Brothers built the world's first aircraft in their bicycle shop in the heart of downtown Dayton. This business boasts a rich history, in operation for over 100 years. At over 140,000 square feet, the Vandalia facility rests on 27 acres right off Interstate 75.
At GE Aerospace in Vandalia, we specialize in manufacturing and servicing world-class power generation and electrical control and distribution equipment for a variety of aerospace customers. Vandalia is also home to a product development lab where operators and engineers work together to invent the future of flight.

This role will sit onsite at the Vandalia, OH facility 5 days per week
No remote or hybrid option
Start time is 6am Monday- Friday
End time can vary based on business needs

Job Description
Role & Responsibilities
Maintain, support, and improve the manufacturing/testing processes for aerospace electrical power generating products via the following responsibilities:
Ensure manufacturing planning clearly communicates the sequence and method of production while aligning with established planning standards, engineering design, and quality requirements
Control the manufacturing processes, validating those processes are well defined and deemed capable of meeting design requirements and yield expectations
Specify/design necessary equipment, tooling, and fixturing
Troubleshoot product failures, determining root cause and implementing corrective actions
Disposition and plan rework of non-conformances
Use production and quality data to drive and implement process improvements that support Safety, Quality, Delivery, and Cost targets
Lead and effectively interface with production planning, engineering, sourcing, and production teams to complete projects that support Safety, Quality, Delivery, and Cost targets
Manage multiple projects simultaneously, including scope definition, project planning, scheduling, resource management, budget control, and compliance
Initiate and participate in Lean activities
Utilize structured continuous improvement methodology and problem-solving tools
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or Engineering Technology from an accredited college or university (or a high school diploma/GED with at least 4 years of experience in manufacturing and/or operations)

This role requires use of technical data subject to U.S. Government contract restrictions and this posting is only for U.S. Citizens. GE will require proof of status.
Ability and willingness to sit onsite at the GE Aerospace facility in Vandalia, OH 5 days per week
Start time for this role is 6:00am eastern
A typical work day will require 8-10 working hours based on business needs
Desired Qualifications
Mechanical, Electrical, Aerospace Engineering degree
Knowledge of aerospace production methods and processes.
Strong mechanical/electrical aptitude.
Strong documentation skills.
Strong problem-solving abilities.
Ability to work in a matrixed organization and work collaboratively in a cross-functional environment.
