Stew Leonard's, a family-owned and operated fresh food store founded in 1969, has locations in Connecticut, New York, and New Jersey. Stew's earned its nickname, the "Disneyland of Dairy Stores" because of its country-fair atmosphere, with costumed characters and animated entertainment throughout the store that keep children entertained while parents shop.

BBQ Cook

Norwalk Part Time Hourly - $17.00 - $18.25 per hour

Must be at least 18 years and older

Job Summary:

Cooks prepare the highest quality food items for retail by following established recipes, standards, and procedures.

Your day-to-day:

Inventory cases and prepare production list

Follow recipes to prepare and reheat food items

Rotate products on display

Adhere to all health, sanitation, and safety regulations

Assist in other duties, as assigned

Qualifications:

18 years of age or older

High school diploma or equivalent with 1 to 3 years of experience

Current Culinary Arts student or graduate, preferred

Knowledge on food preparation

Safely use/operate rotisserie oven, fryers, kettle, knives, scales, and all other equipment required in the day-to-day operation of the rotisserie department

Excellent customer service

Good oral communication skills

Working Conditions:

The temperature in the department can be warmer than room temperature due to the ovens, fryers and other equipment used in department production

Exposure to smoke produced by grills and grease and oil from fryers may be possible

The position requires frequent walking, standing, lifting, pushing, pulling, squatting, and reach is required with a maximum of 50lbs.
