Associate Scientist, Formulation Development

What You Will Do:

Execute formulation and stability studies, including coordination of analytical sample generation and testing, under direction of the federal task leader.

Independently generate and analyze samples using both standard and advanced study specific analytical methods.

Independently analyze and collate analytical data in collaboration with a project development team.

Coordinate and execute assay development studies for vaccine and biotherapeutic characterization under direction of the federal task leader.

Write and review routine stability study protocols under the direction of a Formulation Scientist/Senior Scientist.

Write and review technical reports documenting formulation, stability and method development studies.

Present data in small group and department settings.

Oversee external service and execute routine maintenance and troubleshooting for one or more pieces of laboratory instrumentation.

What You Will Need:

B.S. or M.S. in Chemistry, Biochemistry, Chemical Engineering, or a related discipline is required.

ONE (1) year (minimum) industry, government or equivalent experience in protein formulation or a related field (Master's thesis may fulfill this requirement).

Hands-on experience in one or more of the following areas: protein/vaccine formulation, protein/vaccine stability, biophysical characterization, bioanalytical development.

Hands-on experience with one or more of the following techniques: UV-visible, fluorescence, Circular Dichroism and/or IR spectroscopy; Differential Scanning Calorimetry; Particle characterization (light scattering, HIAC and/or MFI).

Experience with data analysis using standard software platforms (Excel, Prism, SigmaPlot, etc.).

Knowledge of the structural properties of proteins.

Must be able to OBTAIN and MAINTAIN a Federal or DoD "PUBLIC TRUST"; candidates must obtain approved adjudication of their PUBLIC TRUST prior to onboarding with Guidehouse. Candidates with an ACTIVE PUBLIC TRUST or SUITABILITY are preferred.

What Would Be Nice To Have:

Good written, oral, and visual communication skills.

Proficiency with Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, or other equivalent software suites.

Ability to work independently.

Good time management skills.

The annual salary range for this position is $56,000.00-$94,000.00. Compensation decisions depend on a wide range of factors, including but not limited to skill sets, experience and training, security clearances, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs.
