The Opportunity:

As the Senior Associate Athletic Director for Event Management & Operations, you will provide strategic leadership and executive oversight of all athletic facilities and event operations at Washington State University. In this pivotal role, you will manage large-scale capital projects, oversee high-profile event execution, and ensure the efficient operation of athletic venues. As a key member of the executive team, you will partner with internal and external stakeholders to create a safe, engaging, and high-performing environment for student-athletes and the campus community.

You will report directly to the Deputy Director of Athletics, and serve as a key member of the department's executive leadership team, contributing to strategic planning, policy development, and institutional coordination. You will act as the primary liaison with university facilities teams and external contractors/vendors, and play a critical role in creating a safe, compliant, and engaging environment that supports the success of student-athletes and enhances the overall university experience.

Additional Information:

This is a full time (100% FTE), permanent position. This position is overtime-exempt.

Monthly Salary: $9,166.67 - $10,833.34 | Commensurate with experience and qualifications

In accordance with https://app.leg.wa.gov/RCW/default.aspx?cite=49.58.110, the above salary reflects the full salary range for this position. Individual placement within the range is based on the candidate's current experience, education, skills, and abilities related to the position.

Required Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in sports administration, administrative, business, liberal arts, social sciences, or related discipline plus five (5) years of demonstrated experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified for the particular unit, including two (2) years of supervisory responsibility. Any combination of relevant experience and education may be substituted for the required education. Extensive knowledge of rules and regulations established by governing associations.

Must have, or be able to obtain by time of hire, a valid driver's license and meet requirements in accordance with https://policies.wsu.edu/prf/index/manuals/safety-policies-procedures-manual/sppm-7-10/#four_3 and departmental driving standards.

Ability to work a flexible schedule, including nights and weekends.
