This Tax Accounting Tax Senior Manager will report to the Managing Director, Global Tax Accounting, the Senior Manager, Tax Accounting will manage the Company's technical tax accounting function, which is responsible for the company's processes centered around ASC 740-10, formally FIN 48. The Senior Manager will also help lead the global process roles and work alongside the geography-focused team members to manage the global tax accounting processes for the consolidation of global results for U.S. GAAP and management reporting purposes.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Manage all aspects of income tax accounting and forecasting for Recognized and Unrecognized Tax Benefits (income tax reserves) under ASC 740-10, formerly FIN 48, including, but not limited to, the following:
Serve as U.S. GAAP ASC 740 tax accounting expert regarding recognition and measurement of Accenture's global tax positions.
Manage timeliness and ensure technical accuracy of quarterly reserves account movement, including forecast income statement impacts and cash tax impacts of tax controversy;
Ensure all Recognized and Unrecognized Tax Benefits are properly analyzed, supported, and documented, including current/non-current classification, interest and penalty calculations, consideration of the manner in which the position will be settled, including any indirect effects;
Collaborate with a team of regional tax accounting experts to develop and support conclusions regarding income tax reserves, including pre-acquisition risks recorded for acquired entities in purchase accounting;
Supervise the preparation of journal entries, detailed forecasts and other materials used for inclusion in the forecast of Accenture's global Effective Tax Rate;
Prepare and/or review unrecognized tax benefit disclosures US GAAP audited financial statements;
Assist with external financial audits and reviews of income tax reserves;
Conduct or attend quarterly calls with Market Tax Directors, Tax Leadership and external financial auditors to discuss forecast updates to reserve positions;
Review supporting materials for internal controls to be executed by Market Tax Directors over the Recognized and Unrecognized Tax Benefits and ensure timely execution of these controls;
Review comprehensive tax accounting analyses of potential controversy outcomes;
Execute internal controls over the accuracy and completeness of reports and journal entries;
Conduct local income tax accounting training, as required, for the tax and country controllership groups.
Supervise, train and mentor other members of the team.
Responsible for managing all aspects of income tax accounting and forecasting at the tax reporting group level for non-US operations with responsibilities including, but not limited to, the following:
Serve as U.S. GAAP ASC 740 tax accounting expert supporting regional tax experts and Country Controllers at a local level regarding income tax accounting issues.
Manage timeliness and ensure technical accuracy of quarterly effective tax rate and income tax cash payment forecasts, annual provision, and provision to return true-up.
Ensure all local tax accounting issues are properly analyzed, supported, and documented, including current and deferred tax, valuation allowance positions, unrecognized tax benefits, M&A transactions, and impacts of pending legislation.
Collaborate with a team of regional tax accounting experts to support quarterly reporting of income taxes.
Assist with external financial audits and reviews of income taxes.
Advocate compliance with Income Tax Accounting internal controls applicable at the local level.
Conduct local income tax accounting training as required for the tax and country controllership groups

Proactive development of the tax team, technical skills, and tax financial reporting and controls to support a changing business environment;
Work cross-functionally to ensure proper tax reporting of significant transactions and events, continuous monitoring and evaluating of tax positions, development and support of financial statement audit process
Successfully transition tax accounting work to the Tax Operations Centers of Value in India.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:
Minimum of 7 years of combined public accounting and corporate multinational tax experience.
Minimum of 7 years in experience in of accounting and income tax, significant experience in creating process efficiencies, and deep knowledge of US GAAP standard ASC 740
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Proven experience building and leading tax teams across a variety of tax disciplines. Successful coordination and collaboration with team members located in various countries with diverse cultures, time zones, and priorities is required.
Bachelor's degree from an accredited college/university; Chartered Accountant, CPA, and advanced degrees such as MBA, MS in Taxation strongly preferred. Experience with OneSource Tax Provision software and SAP also preferred.
Ability to operate comfortably in fast-paced management structure and capable of challenging in a balanced, constructive way, offering solutions and improvements.
A forward thinker who can identify and capitalize on new trends as a source of further innovation.
Present and interact effectively at the senior leadership level.
