Who we're looking for

Toyota's Performance Analysis and Evaluation Department is looking for a passionate and highly motivated Chassis Strength Technician.

The primary responsibility of this role is to conduct on-vehicle chassis strength evaluations.

Reporting to a Technician Supervisor, the person in this role will support the Performance Analysis and Evaluation department's objective's to safely, accurately collect & report data to support vehicle development for North American Customers.

What you'll be doing

Support evaluation planning, vehicle component retrofit, and vehicle on-road and off-road evaluations.

Install various strain gauges, load cells, and accelerometers.

Set up data acquisition, record, and analyze data.

Conducting vehicle input load measurements on designated test courses.

Confirm accuracy of data collected during evaluation process.

Strongly support Toyota Safety processes, kaizen, and 5S.

What you bring

Associates or Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering Technology, Automotive Engineering Technology or similar; and/or at least 2+ years' of relevant automotive evaluation experience.

Demonstrated acquisition systems and sensor integration.

Experience replacing and retrofitting vehicle suspension components.

Proven experience in conducting fatigue evaluations.

Knowledge in Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint.

This position requires driving. ?A motor vehicle record that's acceptable by company standards is required for this position.

Must be able to lift up to 25lbs.

Willingness to travel domestically and internationally up to 25% of the time.

Willingness to work up to 10 hours of overtime or as needed.
