About the Permian
Straddling West Texas and Southeastern New Mexico, the Permian is the most prolific oil and gas basin in America and the engine behind the country's energy renaissance. Nationally, it provides about 40% of oil and 15% of gas production and plays a critical role in making the U.S. a leading energy exporter.
The merger of ExxonMobil and Pioneer creates an Unconventional business with the largest, high-return development potential in the Permian Basin. The combined company's more than 1.4 million net acres in the Delaware and Midland basins have an estimated 16 billion barrels of oil equivalent resource. In 2023, we produced, on average 612,000 barrels a day in the Permian Basin, and we're aiming to produce 1 million barrels per day from our Permian assets by the end of 2027. Investments in infrastructure from New Mexico to the Gulf Coast enhance logistics and integrated value. We've advanced gathering and processing facilities, including the Cowboy central delivery point. Integration maximizes resource development through to fuels, lubes, and chemicals. The Permian Basin business unit also has the distinction of being the first at ExxonMobil to unveil and execute a plan for net zero Scope 1 and 2 greenhouse gas emissions in operated assets by 2030, as part of the Corporation's broader 2050 net zero ambition.

What role you will play in our team
An Electrical Technicain is responsible for the installation, maintenance, and repair of electrical systems remote facilities.
What you will do
Ensure operations sites are being maintained in a safe manner using PSMS (process safety management system) and PTW (permit to work) processes.
Works Safely around instrumentation and electrical systems.
Candidate will need to have the skills and knowledge required to install, troubleshoot and maintain plant/field instrumentation and equipment.
This includes but not limited to transmitters, valves, switches, sensors, pumps, motors, VFDs, switchgear, lighting, transformers, etc
Maintain and repair a variety of pump motors, compressor motors, fan motors, generators, and other rotating and fixed equipment of all sizes, generally in the plant.
Work in the proximity of various electrical circuits and machinery in various outside weather conditions.
About You
Willing to work overtime when necessary (not guaranteed).
Willingness to learn and take direction from experienced facility personnel
Must be able to lift 50 pounds
Must be able to work in extreme outdoor temperatures
Must be able to perform duties with minimal supervision.
Must be able to communicate, and work well with other personnel, departments, and management.
Computer skills needed for planning, scheduling, record keeping, regulations, and troubleshooting.
Basic knowledge of plants, process flow, and components purpose.
Preferred Qualifications/ Experience
2 years of experience as an IC&E Technician or an Associate's Degree in Instrumentation, Controls or Electrical Systems.
2+ years of formal or industry experience in oil/gas field is preferred.
TX Journeyman's license.
Understand basic plant operation.
Ability to maintain and troubleshoot electrical power and control devices at a range of voltages from 12VDC to 4160V AC
Knowledge and ability to safely work on control circuits in enclosures with other AC/DC circuits.
Ability to coordinate, communicate and work with employees from other contract companies, crafts, and or other departments to meet a common goal.
This is an extremely "hands-on" position requiring outdoor field work that also requires being part of a rotation with others to support the field on an after-hours, on-call basis.
Ability to read and follow loop drawings and P&ID's to install, maintain and troubleshoot heaters, motors, heat trace and other devices in a well production facility environments.
Solid understanding of low and medium voltage electrical equipment such as switch gears, Variable Frequency Drives, lighting contactors, and 24 volt DC control circuits
