We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Manufacturing Manager to join our team at the Amherst, NY facility. The ideal candidate will be responsible for planning and managing the efficient production activities of our manufacturing operations. This role is crucial in ensuring employee safety, quality performance, and the attainment of all customer and company schedules, productivity, and cost-effectiveness. As a key member of the plant management team, this position must lead and develop their teams (production and maintenance) in alignment with business goals, focusing on continuous improvement and customer-centric initiatives.
Essential Functions:
Safety Leadership: -Ensure employee physical well-being and safety by promoting and enforcing a strong safety culture.
Team Development: -Foster a team environment, train, motivate, monitor, and evaluate the performance of the department.-
Operational Planning: -Develop, recommend, implement, and achieve operational plans, goals, budgets, and capital requirements.
Production Control: -Control and schedule plant production operations to meet customer delivery requirements and financial goals.
Maintenance Management: In conjunction with the Maintenance Lead, manage all maintenance activities, including preventative and reactive maintenance, to optimize production efficiency. Monitor and analyze KPIs to identify, plan and implement improvements.
Inventory Management: -Ensure accurate inventory management and conduct routine cycle counts and annual physical inventory.
ISO Compliance: -Maintain necessary records, communications, SOPs, and work instructions for manufacturing.
Qualifications:
Education:
Bachelor's Degree required: Engineering or other technical discipline preferred
Master's Degree preferred
Work Experience:
5+ years: Required experience in manufacturing, preferably in engineering, production planning, or management, with proven supervisory skills
Experience in industrial maintenance: Required, including evaluating and troubleshooting manufacturing processes and machinery
Experience in similar manufacturing plants: Preferred, especially in chemical, ceramic, or food plant @types
Practical/Technical Knowledge:
Leadership and Team Management: Required, with the ability to influence, manage, and motivate others
Process Optimization and Problem-Solving Skills: Required
Interpersonal Skills: Required, with the ability to build cooperative working relationships
Computer Skills: Required, proficient with MS Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Access, and Outlook
Knowledge of Machine Systems: Required, with a proven track record of improving manufacturing costs
Project Management Skills: Preferred, with experience in CAPEX management and familiarity with Management of Change processes
Experience with SCADA or MES Systems: Preferred
Experience Maintaining Equipment: Preferred, such as kilns, high-temperature furnaces, pneumatic systems, and mills

Saint-Gobain aims to deliver a comprehensive Total Rewards package to support our employees' wellbeing and help improve daily life for themselves and their families. We believe in the importance of pay transparency in what we offer potential candidates. Provided is the national pay range for this position which is $100,000 to $140,000 per year. However, the base pay offered may vary depending on geographic region, internal equity, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors.
In addition to base salary, this position is eligible for an annual bonus. The targeted bonus amount is 13% of base salary based on company and individual performance measures. The Total Target Cash range (base pay and annual bonus) for this position, is $115,000-TTC to $160,000-TTC . Bonus payments are part of variable compensation and by nature can vary based on company and individual performance and is not a guarantee.
