The typical workweek is Monday-Friday and flexes to include weekends and evenings when classes are scheduled. Responsibilities 60% - Lead development, coordination, and evaluation of Arboretum adult education experiences Actively seek opportunities for program expansion in subject areas of interest to existing and new audiences Develop and sustain successful working relationships with a diverse group of guest instructors Develop annual expense and revenue budget (~$450K), and ensure the program portfolio meets those goals Actively participate in the adult education team's activities Supervise a team of 3-4 part-time program associates 40% - Manage quality standards and systems for production of classes, conferences, symposia, and other adult education experiences Ensure all production details align with the learning objectives and theme of each experience, and the collections and mission of the Arboretum Serve as the primary staff liaison for large event speakers: negotiate fees and agreements, arrange exclusivity requests, manage relationships with publishers, and coordinate travel and accommodations Act as the lead liaison for adult education with internal Arboretum departments as appropriate Qualifications Required Qualifications Master's degree and 4 years of related experience, or Bachelor's degree and 6 years of related experience Successful experience managing a complex system including scheduling, budgets, stakeholder relationships, marketing, customer service, and teamwork within and across departments or work teams Experience communicating effectively using a variety of methods: writing, speaking, facilitating, etc. Proficiency using MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and similar communication software Desired Qualifications Degree or academic experience in horticulture, agriculture, food systems, botany, plant science, entomology, forestry, or other plant-related field Project management experience Group facilitation experience Teaching experience * Education administration experience Pay and Benefits Pay Range: $65,000 - $73,000; depending on education/qualifications/experience Time Appointment Category: 100% Appointment (If job description above does not specify appointment or expected weekly hours, assume a 100% appointment.)
